Dr. Thomas Eidson adheres to the adage “people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care”. As a vein specialist (phlebologist), he deeply cares about his patients’ quality of life and takes seriously his role in making it the best it can be. At his practice, Atlas Vein Care, Dr. Eidson focuses exclusively on treating and healing venous and lymphatic issues of the legs.

Dr. Eidson takes time with each patient helping them understand the root causes of their symptoms and their treatment options. Patients who may have come to Atlas Vein feeling hopeless and discouraged can leave with hope for a better quality of life.

“Vein problems have a vast array of symptoms,” he said. “They can include venous stasis ulcers, varicose veins and spider veins, leg and ankle swelling, skin darkening or discoloration, leg pain, leg fatigue, night cramps, restless leg syndrome, night cramps, skin breaking down, open skin wounds, and open ulcers on the legs. These are conditions that can greatly affected my patients’ quality of life.”

A good day for Dr. Eidson is any day he can help a patient—of any age—return to the things they enjoy doing pain-free. But his specialty is about more than relieving pain and restoring self-confidence. “Veins are vital to preserving your overall health,” Dr. Eidson said. “It’s your veins that transmit blood throughout your body. Your veins transport oxygen and vital nutrients to your heart and other organs and eliminate carbon dioxide and other wastes.”

He’s passionate about educating his patient—and other healthcare professionals—about things they can do to keep those all-important veins healthy, things like avoiding long periods of sitting or standing, taking time each day to walk, run, swim, do yoga, or cycle, and maintaining a healthy weight.

To diagnose and treat vein issues in the legs, Dr. Eidson offers the latest, state-of-the-art equipment. “A painless ultrasound is all it takes to see if you’re suffering from vein problems in your legs,” he said. “All our sonographers/ultrasound technicians are registered vascular technicians (RVTs) with years of experience in venous and lymphatic medicine. We’re dedicated to staying abreast of technology advancements and investing in the best equipment available. And my team and I offer all the vein care our patients need under one roof.”

Dr. Eidson speaks at local and statewide medical conferences educating fellow medical professionals on venous and lymphatic medicine topics. He serves as a mentor to young men and women interested in the medical field and as a rotation site for medical students. He and his wife are members of Gateway Church and give time and resources to EQUIP, a non-profit founded by John C. Maxwell, dedicated to life-changing transformation through leadership, relationship, and adding value to others. “Check it out at IEQUIP.org,” Dr. Eidson said. “It might just change your life.” Find out more at AtlasVein.com.
