Connections Wellness Group – McKinney brings life-enhancing, personalized, comprehensive mental health solutions and an innovative, integrated treatment model to the Greater McKinney area.
From general mental health care for adolescents and adults to PHP (partial hospitalization programs) and IOP (intensive outpatient programs), the practice’s collaborative team of mental health professionals provides a high level of care, which hasn’t gone unnoticed. Connections Wellness Group – McKinney was recently voted 2023 Best Behavioral Therapy and Best Counseling, garnering two Living Magazine Readers’ Choice awards.
“We’re continually evolving to meet the needs of the community,” says McKinney’s executive director, Alyssa Evans, MED, LPC, LCDC. “We have an amazing team with a spirit of camaraderie and innovative thinking that enhances our ability to best serve our clients. And the friendly, uplifting atmosphere benefits our team and clients alike.”
The Front Line Program
Always striving to meet the community’s evolving needs, Alyssa and her team recognized that active-duty military personnel, veterans, and first responders need something different than general mental healthcare IOPs and PHPs. This led Connections Wellness Group to create a specialty onsite IOP/PHP called The Front Line for these clients. The eight-to-10-week program meets Monday through Friday, 9 AM to noon for IOP or 9 AM to 1 PM for PHP.
“It’s an innovative program specifically tailored to people who serve or have served our country and communities. The curriculum is rigorous, and the environment is caring, supportive, and compassionate. Everyone on our Front Line team is sensitive to their needs and situation, including the therapist, who is a 30-year Navy veteran.”
New Adolescent IOP Gives Kids More Time at School
Most IOPs meet five days a week. Although Connections Wellness Group incorporates certified teachers into their adolescent IOP and PHP curriculums, a new IOP has just been introduced that meets onsite from 9 AM to noon, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
“This opens our IOP treatment up for more children by enabling them to attend school for half a day three days a week, and two full days on Tuesday and Thursday,” Alyssa says. “It also supports a transition plan after clients complete a full IOP or PHP. It’s a warmer, smoother handoff than going from an intensive program to therapy once or twice a week and their school full time.”
