Anchor Point – Debbie Simmons

A Beacon of Hope and Help

We are living in an extraordinary time. So many critically important issues are at the forefront of our conscious, not only for our country, but down into our communities and our homes. And in this environment, churches and faith-based organizations have an amazing opportunity to step up and be the hands and feet of Jesus when so many are visibly looking for hope and help.

Anchor Point is one such beacon of hope and help in our community. Anchor Point champions the future of children by educating and empowering parents because no one is beyond hope. The strength of our communities is directly related to the strength of our families. Through Anchor Point’s family network, we come alongside families each step of the way. Our Obria Medical Clinic works with the underinsured in our area with STD testing, well woman exams, pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and prenatal care. Our Hope Family Center focuses on before birth through 3 years of age with crisis intervention, material assistance, All-Star Dads programming, mentoring, Bible studies, prenatal and parenting classes. Our Hope Counseling Center works with families who have challenging situations or have had trauma. Hope Counseling offers family therapeutic Pathway to Hope Camps each summer along with individual and group counseling year-round. The newest addition to Anchor Point’s family network is Hope House Maternity Home which is an 18-month transformational program for pregnant girls between 16-24 years old.

On average, Anchor Point comes alongside over 5K individuals and families each year. We are blessed to have Anchor Point as a critical part of making our community stronger together.

Sunny, one of our clients, tells it the best. “Anchor Point has saved my life numerous times over the years. I was overwhelmed with my 4th child, and they walked alongside me each step of the way. When the Obria clinic opened, the Nurse Practitioner found an undiagnosed life-threatening condition. When struggling with all these children and trying to be able to be a good mom, my kids and I were able to attend the Pathway to Hope Camp so that I could learn to be the best mom I could be. I love Anchor Point! Next to my kids, they are the best thing that has happened to me.”

If you or a family you know needs assistance, Anchor Point is here. If you are looking for a place to make a difference, look no further. Anchor Point could not impact the families that we do each year without dedicated volunteers, prayer partners and financial supporters.
