Mandy Cotten, DNP, APRN, FNP-C
BY Meredith Knight
Mandy Cotten wears many hats. She’s a Family nurse practitioner, a wife, a mother, a researcher, an author, former director of clinic and research at BioTE Medical, and current owner of Institute for Hormonal Balance.
“I’m blessed to follow in the footsteps of my father, Dr. Gary Donovitz, continuing his legacy of caring for patients and helping them realize a quality of life they never thought they could,” she said.
It’s not hard to see where Mandy’s passion lies. What gets her out of bed each morning is the success she’s had in helping her patients find the best plan of care for themselves and involving each patient in their own health and wellness decisions, empowering them to be their own best health advocate.
Mandy’s goal is to help patients feel the best they can feel and to educate them so they can stay healthy. Her Institute for Hormonal Balance also offers the latest facial and body aesthetics, wellness and nutrition, and gynecology and intimate wellness services.
Men and women flock to Mandy for bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) when their levels of estrogen, progesterone, and/or testosterone decline with age, stress, and health status. She partners with them to balance their hormones and return them to a healthy, vibrant life. Mandy has personally performed over 35,000 BHRT pellet procedures, but offers several options for hormone optimization to her patients. And she’s still in big demand as a trainer teaching others in her field about the importance of hormone optimization to assist patients in achieving the highest quality of life.
Mandy graduated from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2006 and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2010. While working as a registered nurse for five years at John Peter Smith Hospital, Mandy completed her Doctorate in Nursing Practice at Loyola University in New Orleans and became board certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
She served on the clinical advisory board for BioTE Medical and was their director of clinic and research for eight years. During her time there, Mandy participated in the training of over 4,000 of her fellow practitioners internationally and became a published author when she and her father coauthored “Breast Cancer Incidence Reduction in Women Treated with Subcutaneous Testosterone: Testosterone Therapy and Breast Cancer Incidence Study” published in the European Journal of Breast Health in 2021.
With her love for teaching and research, she currently serves on the board for Formula 30A CBD Company, speaks on thyroid management for Acella Pharmaceuticals, and is highly sought after for interviews and speaking engagements.
When not caring for patients and running her thriving practice, Mandy loves spending time with her family, including her two children, Rylie & Ashton, and her husband, Casey.
