Dr. Bart Miller is a residency-trained specialist in orthodontics and a member of the American Association of Orthodontists. Coupled with his extensive educational background and experience, his talent for helping patients at Rockwall Crossing Orthodontics achieve healthy and beautiful smiles is well-known. With two office locations in Rockwall and Canton, Dr. Bart and his friendly team are focused on creating smiles that last a lifetime, while making every patient feel valued and appreciated.

A love for the dental field in orthodontics runs in Dr. Miller’s family. “My dad was an orthodontist and absolutely loved his job,” he said. Joining his father in practice in 2001, Dr. Miller has enjoyed every minute of it. Getting to know patients and their families and helping them achieve their smile goals is a rewarding experience for him.

Today, people can expect to keep their teeth for life, based on regular general dentist visits and if needed, proper orthodontic care. “We work to facilitate a proper bite, fit, and function to maintain the health and longevity of the teeth,” Dr. Miller said. He explained orthodontics isn’t just about having a pretty smile. A good foundation for function and chewing is needed and is always at the forefront of Dr. Miller’s practice.

Dr. Miller sees adults, teens, and children, beginning at seven years of age when their molars have erupted. That’s a good time to get an idea of a child’s bite and possible future crowding. According to Dr. Miller, if baby teeth are totally straight without any gaps in between, it’s actually a problem. Their smile should resemble a picket fence, allowing room for their permanent teeth to erupt. Permanent teeth are larger; if there’s no room in between baby teeth for the permanent teeth to come in, crowding could be a problem later.

Traditional braces and Invisalign clear aligners are available orthodontic choices, based on the needs and wants of Dr. Miller’s patients. Invisalign requires more personal responsibility and attention, sometimes making traditional braces the more appealing and practical choice. Either way, Dr. Miller and his team diligently work to ensure their patients’ teeth are in top-notch function, resulting in happy smiles all around.
