When you have a foot or ankle issue, whether a chronic case of plantar fasciitis or heel pain, an ankle fracture, or something in between, it’s only natural to assume your doctor will immediately suggest surgery to correct the issue. As a result, your gut reaction might be to stay far away — telling yourself over and over that time and rest will surely do the trick.

Dr. Brandon Lampe at The Foot & Ankle Center of Dallas understands your hesitations. He’s not the type of doctor who quickly chooses surgery as the only option — especially when a conservative approach could get you on your feet just as quickly.

“Many patients think, ‘He’s going to come in and immediately suggest surgery.’ That’s not me,” Dr. Lampe said. He pointed to treatment options such as shockwave therapy, and more that are noninvasive yet highly effective. “My goal is to resolve your foot and ankle pain with the simplest, noninvasive methods possible. Surgery is certainly sometimes inevitable. However, that is typically not discussed until all conservative treatments have been exhausted.”

Dr. Lampe opened his state-of-the-art Mesquite office last year to provide routine and complex foot and ankle care for children and adults. He is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in forefoot, rearfoot, and ankle surgery, having earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his residency in Dallas (Hunt Regional Medical Center — Baylor affiliate), where he served as chief resident. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and served as section chief of podiatry at Methodist Dallas Medical Center.

His extensive training and experience allow him to treat a multitude of foot and ankle conditions, from complex trauma and congenital conditions to the more common heel pain, neuroma, and ingrown toenail issues seen daily in the office.

“I enjoy providing patients with all the pertinent information of their condition and all the possible treatment options,” Dr. Lampe said. “From there, I allow the patient to choose the most appropriate treatment pathway for their specific condition and lifestyle.”

Although the initial methods used to treat foot and ankle problems may vary between patients, physical therapy is always necessary to restore full movement and mobility and help patients return to their favorite activities. The Foot & Ankle Center of Dallas is pleased to offer physical therapy with Dr. Dustin Blankenship, a certified physical therapist who works closely with Dr. Lampe to ensure every patient can benefit from a full and quick recovery. For the patients, this means no more driving from facility to facility to receive specialized care. Instead, everything is under one roof.

“The beauty of having physical therapy in the same space allows me to make real-time assessments of how patients are progressing and tailor their treatment plans accordingly to expedite their time to a full recovery.”
