MORE THAN $200K RAISED FOR KIDS

Though it wasn’t a gala like in years past, Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County didn’t let the pandemic situation deter them from doing important work to raise money for the benefit of children.

“We didn’t want to give up the opportunity to connect with our supporters who care deeply about this mission and make such a difference for the children we serve,” said CEO Lynne McLean in an email. “Our mission has always been critical, but it is more critical now than ever.” Like many other nonprofits, COVID-19 changed the organization’s plans for their largest annual fundraiser, an annual gala about coming together and taking a stand against child abuse in our very own community. “While many things have been affected by the pandemic in one way or another, our mission and commitment to the children we serve has not. The work we do here at Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County is crucial to many children and families in our community,” McLean said.

Despite the crisis, over $200,000 was raised for the children served by CACCC through “Wings of Hope” donations and an online auction as part of Gala 2020: A Virtual Experience, held entirely as a live online stream.
