No matter how many people Dr. Sameer Syed and
his team at Pain Treatment Institute treat for their chronic pain issues, he
knows there are plenty more still sitting up late at night, frantically
searching online for solutions to what’s been ailing them for months or even
years. They feel like they’ve run out of options — that they’ll be hurting
and limited for the rest of their lives. Scenarios like these play out too
often, but with six locations in North Texas, Dr. Syed doesn’t think it’s too
far-fetched to say he can help all of them.

The debilitating pain you’re experiencing in
your back, neck, shoulders, or joints can end today — and trust Dr. Syed when
he says you can find lasting relief in a family environment without invasive
surgery or having to rely on addictive pain medication.

“We want to be that beacon of hope,” he said.
“We want to get people back to what they love to do, whether that’s
traveling, spending time with grandkids, playing sports, dancing at their
daughter’s wedding, or just living life pain-free. We deal in pain
management, and while others do the same thing, our special sauce is that we
genuinely care for

our patients.

“Whether we see them once or several times,
they will always feel like family.”

Patient-Centered Care, Creating
Bonds

There’s something to be said for finding a
pain management practice that reminds you of the good old days of healthcare
— where the atmosphere is warm and friendly, doctors take their time getting
to know you rather than impersonally shuffling quickly between treatment
rooms, and patient-centered care and relationship-building is the name of the
game. That’s the environment Pain Treatment Institute has developed at each
location, including offices in Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Sherman, Rockwall,
and Mesquite.

They pride themselves on fast scheduling and
minimal wait times, so you’re not having to sit in a waiting room in pain for
hours on end. Their board certified physicians listen to your needs,
empathize with your unique situation, and ask the appropriate questions to
deliver the best possible pain management. That includes avoiding
cookie-cutter approaches commonly found in most pain management centers.
Instead, Dr. Syed and his team tailor medication management and regenerative
solutions to each patient’s needs.

“I just had a gentleman come in the other day
and say, ‘I scheduled my appointment today and at this time because my
wedding is on Saturday, and I want to dance my butt off without being in
pain,’” Dr. Syed said with a laugh. “I think that’s what separates us — our
patients feel comfortable having those conversations with us. They know us
and our families. We know all about them, what’s going on in their lives, and
what’s keeping them from enjoying life. These are real connections we’re
building, and what happens is that we ultimately treat generations of
families. And then they tell their friends and neighbors, and they come to
see us, too.”

Pain-Free —
From Head to Toe

Pain Treatment Institute’s warm atmosphere
and commitment to building genuine relationships can only be overshadowed by
their ability to do what they say they will do at the end of the day — help
you be pain-free. Dr Syed and his team of physicians evaluate your condition,
diagnose the source of your pain, and implement a treatment plan to give you
relief. They always consider conservative pain treatment first to help
relieve or eliminate many causes of back pain, neck pain, pain in the hips,
and knee pain. This can include fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided
injections, regenerative therapy, physical therapy, medication management,
psychological counseling, and neuraxial manipulations.

Their pain management physicians also use
conservative treatments for conditions such as neuropathy, migraines, and
fibromyalgia. When conservative treatments don’t work, they have the
experience and expertise to perform minimally invasive procedures such as
nerve blocks, steroid injections, and radiofrequency
ablations.

Dr. Syed earned his undergraduate degree at
Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. He completed a medical degree and
a master’s degree in public health at Tulane University School of Medicine in
New Orleans. He went on to finish his residency in anesthesiology at Ochsner
Health System in New Orleans and a fellowship in interventional pain
management at Solar Health System. He’s board certified with the American
Board of Anesthesiology and the American Board of Pain Management. Dr. Syed
is also a member of numerous professional organizations, including the
American Medical Association, American Academy of Pain Management, American
Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and many others.

Alongside him are the best of the best in
pain management practitioners. This includes Drs. Preston Harmon and Tian
Zhao, nurse practitioners Dona Horton and Veronica Shaw, and physician
assistant Devon McCoy. Dr. Harmon is board certified in physical medicine and
rehabilitation (PM&R) and completed a fellowship in interventional
spine and pain management. Dr. Harmon treats musculoskeletal conditions using
a combination of both conservative and interventional measures. Additionally,
he has a strong interest in regenerative techniques to treat common
musculoskeletal pathologies and injuries and continues to learn the latest
techniques in pain management at many of the top training
centers.

“The philosophy of this practice is to treat
patients holistically and help minimize and eliminate medications as best as
possible. We care, we listen, and we realize that pain not only affects
patients physically but also emotionally, financially, and in daily interpersonal
relations,” Dr. Syed said. “We work closely with our patients to get them
back to doing what they love to do, pain-free.”
