Angela Abeyta is a Leading Woman by treating Camp Bow Wow and her furry clients as if they were her very own, leading by example, and through faith. For three-and-a-half years of the six years that Camp Bow Wow has been in business, Angela has been the GM.

“I focus on running this business as though it were my own,” said Angela. “Not only for the franchise owner, but for the Lord, and from doing that everything else just flows.”

The numbers of satisfied customers and referrals have catapulted. Camp Bow Wow has gone from averaging 30 dogs a day to more than 75.

“Pet parents have peace of mind when their dogs are with us,” said Angela, “which is what we hear repeatedly.”

Her team consists of 42 employees, some adults, some of them highschoolers in the practicum program from various high schools, and some in college.

“For many, this is their first job,” Angela explained. “We teach them that in everything, we do our very best. I believe in servant leadership and leading by example. I am compassionate and flexible, but I also enforce a high standard. That balance makes me a good leader and my staff appreciates it as well.”

Along with providing general services, Camp Bow Wow provides enrichment for dogs through one-on-one play and snuggle time and delighting pet parents with pictures. Live webcams are another perk parents enjoy.
