With almost 40 years of combined experience, Nurse Practitioners Stephanie Atkinson and Diane Womack have opened their practice in McKinney to offer primary care to their long-term patients and to the wider community. Many will recognize their names since they previously worked together in the practice of their mentor Dr. Rhonda Hopkins, who recently retired.

These highly trained and compassionate nurse practitioners have served the community as leading women in the healthcare arena. This new office will allow Dr. Atkinson and Diane to welcome patients to a fresh and bright environment where they will extend the same high-quality services they are known for.

Dr. Stephanie Atkinson has been a board certified family nurse practitioner since 2011. She received her undergraduate training from the University of Texas-Austin, Master of Science from Texas Woman’s University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Johns Hopkins University.

Diane Womack is a board certified family nurse practitioner since 2001. She received her undergraduate degrees at the University of Texas Arlington and her Master of Science at Texas Woman’s University in Denton.

“Over the years we have built close relationships with our patients that in some cases even include multiple generations of family members,” says Dr. Atkinson. “We want them to know that we are here to continue to care for them in our new location.

Atkinson-Womack Family Care sees patients from age five and older. Their family-like approach means they treat their patients’ needs as they would their own family members with the same dedication and concern. Both spend many hours in continuing education, keeping up with the latest studies, research, and technology in order offer their patients the very latest in proven and effective treatment.

Nurse practitioners are highly trained to assess, diagnose, treat, prescribe, and evaluate diagnostic tests in a primary care setting. They embrace a holistic approach, taking into consideration a patient’s entire healthcare journey with emphasis on wellness and prevention.

Dr. Atkinson and Diane routinely collaborate with esteemed specialists in the area so that when a patient requires a further referral, it is readily available.

If you receive a serious diagnosis, it’s normal to feel overwhelmed. It’s hard to know who to trust, which healthcare professional you need to consult, or where to turn. The team at Atkinson-Womack can help you navigate these issues with assurance and confidence.

“We’re approachable,” says Diane. “You can talk to us about anything. And we will walk with you through those decisions so that you have exactly what you need.”

These leading women in healthcare have brought their quality educations, their long-term experience, and their compassion all together in a new and convenient McKinney location. They will continue to enhance the community as they strengthen the good health of those they serve.
