Michele Ross has a favorite quote. It’s from motivational speaker and author, Zig Zigler, “Live in such a way that if someone should speak badly of you, no one would believe it.” That principal guides Michele’s days and her work at Ross Wealth Group. She was also greatly influenced by a mother who “walks the walk” of a solid work ethic.
“I grew up in a single-parent home,” Michele said. “Mom worked three or four jobs to make sure my sister and I had everything we needed. She taught us that circumstances don’t control the outcome of your life. You do! From her I learned that, through hard work and dedication, you can become everything that you want to be. At 81 now, Mom is still working in Dallas, selling real estate, and impacting lives.”
Michele began her career in the mortgage industry where she worked in various positions for 17 years. When she and her husband, Russ, started their family, she was blessed to stay home as a full-time mom. “I wouldn’t trade those years for anything,” Michele said.
In 2001, she and Russ became licensed representatives and insurance producers and began building their business out of their home. They worked primarily with educators, assisting them with saving and preparing for their future retirement. The firm grew through word-of-mouth recommendations. Now in their 24th year, they have clients from all walks of life.
“The biggest blessing for us have been the connections we form with the families we serve,” Michele said. “We’re intentional about making our clients feel like extended members of our family.” One way they do this is through a proprietary planning process they call, Ross Wealth Financial Flight Plan that addresses five major areas, offering their clients a comprehensive solution for their retirement and beyond.
“I realize now that my two greatest accomplishments in life are our children”, Michele said. “But when they started college, I realized I didn’t know who I was besides their mom. I went through a difficult period trying to figure out my new purpose. Over time, I realized I needed to go back into our business full-time. Now, as the Director of First Impressions, I’m the first point of contact for anyone calling our office, and I can begin showing them how different we are from that first conversation. We begin building our relationship from our first contact.”
When not on the job, Michele enjoys traveling with Russ and spending as much time as she can with her recently widowed mother. She also loves a good estates sale or antique mall.
“Russ and I believe that everyone deserves a financial home where they’re treated like family, where they’re expertly guided in building a secure retirement, and where they can trust their loved ones will be looked after and protected,” Michele said.
