Rockin’ A B Designs’ inspiring brand of original boutique clothing has been delighting customers since 1999. Now three stores strong in Downtown McKinney, people are chompin’ at the bit to see what they have in store for Christmas this year. The excitement is building and everyone’s wondering what they’ll feature in their ever-popular holiday window display. Famous for their unique and imaginative window scenes, Rockin’ A B has been knocking the socks off visitors every year, with people coming far and wide to see the finishing touches and snap some photos.
The festive wintery scenes designed by owner Amy Pyeatt provide the perfect backdrop for an Instagram-worthy Christmas portrait. “It’s fun to see who walks up to take their children’s pictures or group photos,” said Amy. “Last year, we even had a family in pajamas come and take photos at night in front of our window!” Last year’s window featured a carousel horse, but only Amy knows what direction they’ll take this year. She’ll start the creative process mid-October, just in time for the holiday season.
Behind the Brand
Amy and her husband, Boone, have developed and nurtured three separate brick-and-mortar stores, each unique in its own right. Whether it’s vintage reproduction toys and books, classic and original boutique clothing, or a complete collection of dancewear, their brand has all things covered. Under the umbrella of Pyeatt Holdings, each store’s merchandise reflects the distinct characteristics of Amy’s craftsmanship and love for nostalgia.
Amy opened the flagship Rockin’ A B retail store in Downtown McKinney in 2017 after many years of representation in the Dallas World Trade Center. The business grew rapidly, requiring additional retail space for 1970s and ’80s vintage-reproduction toys and books to be added. New for 2023 is the addition of Hape Wooden Toys. Kids can enjoy their interactive displays, featuring Hape’s Quadrilla Wooden
Marble Run Constructions.
Located directly across the street, Maimee Lou became the new store for all things baby and classic clothing, from infant to size six. Smocked outfits for boys and girls, matching sibling outfits, items for baby celebrations, and gifts can be found there.
Amy opened her third store, The Barre at Rockin’ A B, supplying everything for the dance enthusiast. Customers can come in to get a proper ballet or tap shoe fitting in person.
“There’s always a bit of nostalgia in each of our stores,” Amy explained. The reminiscent charm of the past coupled with the unique products the three stores offer has made them a downtown sensation. Additionally, quality customer service makes the Rockin’ A B collection of stores a top favorite among customers.
Amy is thrilled to be named Living Magazine’s Readers’ Choice Best Of
winner in McKinney/Allen. She appreciates customers’ ongoing support and looks forward to visiting with established customers and welcoming new ones.
