Q&A

Med Spa

I’m searching for a new med spa. What should I be looking for?

Consider factors such as reputation, staff qualifications, cleanliness, range of services, safety protocols, and patient reviews. It’s also important to ensure the med spa follows proper licensing and regulatory guidelines.

At The Aesthetics Society, we believe in assessing the face globally before full-facial rejuvenation. This is crucial for achieving natural-looking results with injectable treatments. We take a comprehensive approach during consultations, considering factors like facial symmetry, proportion, volume loss, and skin quality. By carefully analyzing the entire face, we can develop a customized treatment plan that targets specific areas while maintaining harmony and balance. The goal is to provide subtle enhancements that refresh your appearance without looking overdone or unnatural. You want to find a med spa that takes such an approach to ensure the results are tailored to your individual features and preferences.

Can you explain how PRP works to reverse the aging process?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP), platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), and EZ Gel are treatments that utilize components from your blood to stimulate tissue repair and rejuvenation. Here’s a brief explanation of how they work:

PRP involves drawing a small amount of blood from the patient, which is then spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelets from other blood components. The concentrated platelets, rich in growth factors, are then injected into areas of the skin to promote collagen production, improve skin texture, and enhance healing.

PRF is similar to PRP but involves a slower centrifugation process that results in a fibrin matrix containing platelets and white blood cells. This matrix is often used in conjunction with procedures like microneedling or as a filler to enhance volume and improve skin quality.

EZ Gel is a type of bio filler made of a substance naturally found in the body, hyaluronic acid. It’s used to add volume to the skin, smooth wrinkles, and improve overall facial appearance.

While these treatments can improve the appearance of aging skin by stimulating collagen production, reducing wrinkles, and enhancing skin texture, they don’t reverse the aging process entirely. Results vary from person to person, and multiple sessions may be needed to achieve desired outcomes. Combining these treatments with a good skincare routine and healthy lifestyle habits can maximize their effectiveness in maintaining youthful-looking skin.

How do you approach aging in your consultations?

I prioritize understanding each patient’s concerns, goals, and expectations emphasizing a holistic approach including discussing lifestyle factors like diet, exercise, and skincare habits. I also provide information about available treatment options, such as cosmetic procedures, skincare products, and lifestyle modifications. The goal is to create a personalized plan tailored to each patient’s needs and preferences, focusing on enhancing their natural beauty and promoting overall well-being.

I feel moody and sluggish and have zero sex drive. Can hormone replacement therapy make me ME again?

Absolutely! Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) can improve or resolve symptoms of fatigue, muscle weakness, low libido, hot flashes, night sweats, brain fog, low energy, and much more.

How can I lose weight and keep it off?

Weight gain can happen due to a variety of factors, including hormonal imbalances, diet, and stress.. At The Aesthetics Society, we’ll meet with you for a consultation and draw blood work. After that, we can tailor a treatment plan for your specific needs. Hormone optimization, weight-loss injections, and nutritional counseling are all options we offer.

I have stretch marks after carrying twins. Can you do anything about that?

Morpheus8 Body is radio frequency microneedling that can penetrate multiple layers of skin to stimulate collagen, tighten the skin, and reducing the appearance of stretch marks. It’s best administered in a series of three to four sessions.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

No! There will be a few spots that are a little “pinchy.” But for the most part, it’s tolerable. I have clients ask me if the machine is even on because it is that painless. Our owner stays on top of the newest technology ensuring all our clients have a great and comfortable experience.

I have sunspots on my arms, hands, and back. What can be done for them?

Lumecca (IPL) is your best option. We can perform IPL on any part of your body to help lighten or eliminate sunspots and hyperpigmentation. It is best in four to five sessions.

What’s the difference between a regular facial and a HydraFacial?

A traditional facial normally consists of a basic cleanse, exfoliation, and hydration. Hydrafacial is like a “spring cleaning,” which allows us to cleanse the skin and also detox, pulling out impurities and adding ultra hydration with no down time or discomfort. We also offer add-ons like customized boosters and LED light therapy.

Why should I use medical-grade skincare?

When you use medical-grade skincare, you’re using a more highly concentrated formulation that allows you to see corrective results faster and gives you the opportunity to maintain those beautiful results. It also takes much less product because the medical-grade skincare is always more concentrated making the term “a little goes a long way” 100% accurate.

Will dermaplaning make the hair on my face grow back thicker?

Absolutely not. Dermaplaning allows the hair to grow back in exactly the same fashion it’s removed in. No more. No less. I always try to remind clients that dermaplaning, believe it or not, is less about hair removal and more about removing the dead-skin “saw mask” that we accumulate whether through dead skin, dry skin, perspiration, or product buildup. By removing that layer, your products can penetrate and do the job they’re intended to do, leaving you with smooth, newborn-feeling skin and allowing your makeup to go on flawlessly.
