Dr. Wilson Almonte has been practicing interventional pain medicine and pain management since 2013 at Brazos Pain Management. Dr. Almonte is a highly esteemed board certified and fellowship-trained physician in pain management and anesthesiology, offering a high level of care. Dr. Ted Lin joined the practice in 2019, continuing a patient-centric approach that distinguishes their practice from other pain management physicians.
Both doctors specialize in treating a range of acute and chronic pain using advanced interventional and minimally invasive procedures. They believe in a comprehensive, tailored approach to identifying and treating the root cause of a person’s pain with optimal results. From neck pain to sciatica, vertebral compression fractures to acute injury and joint pain, their goal is to customize treatment for each patient’s particular ailment to accomplish successful pain management with optimal results.
Conditions treated include arthritis pain, degenerative disc disease, cancer pain, complex regional pain syndrome, post-surgical hip pain, shingles pain, sciatica, shoulder pain, spinal stenosis, vertebral fractures due to osteoporosis, and many others.
Remaining at the cutting edge of pain management technology, both doctors utilize the knowledge and experience they’ve acquired over the years to determine the most effective paths of treatment best suited for alleviating each patient’s particular ailments. “We don’t just prescribe a pill and send patients on their way,” Dr. Almonte said. “Our aim is to help patients overcome debilitating pain and regain their functionality to experience a vibrant quality of life.”
Physical therapy is a key element in the healing process. A knowledgeable and experienced physical therapist and a PT assistant work on staff at Brazos Pain Management. The physical therapy gym is in the same suite as the exam and treatment rooms, affording convenience to patients.
The First Appointment
Personalized care means every patient will see either Dr. Almonte or Dr. Lin at every visit. They spend time getting to know each patient. A thorough health history is recorded, followed by a full exam and evaluation. “They usually arrive with X-rays in hand from previous doctors that have referred them. If not, we order the necessary images and develop a differential treatment plan to address their pain, depending on what the images show,” Dr. Almonte explained. “Details of the plan and expected outcomes are explained and questions are answered.”
