Q&A
Bank
Who is Homebank?
Homebank is a true community bank with three branches serving Rockwall and surrounding areas, including Seagoville and far East Dallas. While many banks claim to be local, they often fund projects far beyond their stated footprint. We don’t do that. The deposits we receive come from people in our community — people we live alongside — and those dollars stay local. We lend almost exclusively within our market. That local reinvestment defines who we are. We’re here for Rockwall, Kaufman County, Collin County, Hunt County, and East Dallas. We live here, we work here, and we bank here.
What is the true meaning of relationship banking?
Relationship banking starts with knowing your customer — and them knowing you. It’s about individualized service and building trust. Our bankers don’t just process transactions; they take time to understand each customer’s journey and where they want to go. We believe customer service means being friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and efficient. Relationship banking really proves its value in key moments: when opportunity strikes, like buying a building or expanding a business, and when challenges arise, like a slow market or financial stress. In those moments, the strength of your relationship with your bank makes all the difference.
Why is it important that a human answers the phone?
One of the most frustrating experiences is needing help and being met with a phone tree, or worse, walking into a big bank only to be told to go home and call the same 800 number. When something goes wrong, whether it’s a miswritten check or a hold on your account, you need a human, not a machine. At Homebank, we answer the phone. We empower our team to help you on the spot or quickly connect you with someone who can. It’s about solving problems personally and building trust with every conversation.
What do you look for when working with business customers?
First and foremost, we look for the story — how the customer got where they are and where they want to go. We focus on character just as much as cash flow or collateral. We want to know who we’re working with and believe in their goals. Our process isn’t driven by a one-size-fits-all product menu. We tailor terms and solutions to fit each individual situation. That flexibility is a big advantage. If the numbers and collateral are there, and we trust the person, we’ll find a way to make it work.
Why is community involvement so important to Homebank?
Because we live here too. We don’t just write checks — we show up. Our employees serve on boards and volunteer across the community: YMCA, churches, the Chamber of Commerce, Meals on Wheels, the Children’s Advocacy Center for Rockwall County, Friends of the Library, and more. A strong community makes for a strong bank. That’s why we believe in putting both our money and our time into making this a better place for everyone.
