Dr. Jennifer Hau, the skin cancer and facial surgery specialist in the practice, joined the team five years ago. She completed an internship at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and dermatology residency at UCLA, where she served as chief resident. Following residency, she completed a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery, dermatologic oncology, and cosmetic dermatology at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Hau has presented at numerous local and national conferences and has published peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
“I’ve always been drawn to helping people,” Dr. Hau says. “Medicine feels like the most direct and meaningful way to do that. I’m very lucky to be a dermatologist and where I get to make an impact on my patients’ health every day.”

In order to provide the most advanced dermatologic surgery, Dr. Hau is a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon. As the gold standard for skin cancer treatment, Mohs surgery allows for the removal of skin cancer with the highest cure rates while preserving as much healthy tissue as possible — which is especially important on delicate areas like the face. Dr. Hau spends many hours each year in continuing education training in order to offer cutting-edge care.
Dr. Selina Hamill, one of the medical dermatology specialists at Cypress Derm for more than five years, graduated from the University of Texas at Houston School of Medicine and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Society. Dr. Hamill completed her dermatology residency at the MD Anderson Cancer Center and University of Texas, where she served as chief resident. Dr. Hamill has published in multiple peer-reviewed journals and presented her work at national conferences.
One aspect of Cypress Dermatology that Dr. Hamill takes pride in is that only board certified physicians practice there. No matter when your appointment takes place, you will see one of the trained and experienced doctors. These professionals give you all their attention during your interaction, using a scribe to take notes so she can focus only on talking with and treating each patient.
