When Janet Ballard consults with a family looking for in-home care for a loved one, she remembers being in their shoes. “I had to start from scratch educating myself about what’s available, evaluating our needs, and figuring out how to access the care my mother deserved.”
Now, Janet wakes up every day with a mission — to make that process easier for other families. As a community liaison for Right at Home Western Collin County, she helps families access a range of in-home care options for seniors and adults with disabilities providing them with uniquely tailored care plans. Whether your loved one needs help with dressing and hygiene, medication reminders, advice on home modifications, transportation to medical appointments, or lessons in the latest technology, Right at Home caregivers are here to help you or your loved one navigate life.
“I want to be a resource for families and help any way I can,” Janet said. “If families need a hospice contact or senior placement contact, I’m here to help. If they need companion care, personal care, specialty care, their care plan will include exactly what they need. Many families don’t realize, for instance, that they can access our services whether their loved one is living independently or in an assisted-living, memory-care, rehab, skilled-nursing, or hospital environment.”
