Marcus Moehler began his culinary journey at age 11 while cooking at home with his parents. They moved to Rockwall in 2010, and he joined the Rockwall High School culinary arts program in 2014. He participated on the ProStart team that finished second in the state. He completed his culinary arts degree at El Centro. Marcus always had a desire to work in fine dining and started his career at Abacus in Dallas. At age 19, he left to work and study in Spain at Restaurante Victor Guitierrez, a one Michelin star restaurant. Upon returning home, Marcus began his work with Japanese cuisine at Nobu Dallas, opened Nobu Houston, and worked at Uchi.
Continuing his culinary growth, he began working at Georgie by Curtis Stone under Chef Toby Archibald. Following Georgie, he worked for 2 years at Culpepper Cattle Company as sous chef and ultimately as the executive chef. During 2020-21, he also worked as executive chef at a private hunting lodge in Montana during bird-hunting season.
Following Culpepper’s, he was the executive chef at lncognito Winery in Rockwall. He has been involved in catering events for the PGA, Coca-Cola, and Senator Ralph Hall as well as numerous food events from Gastronomika in San Sebastian, Spain to local events like Chefs for Farmers and Bits & Bites. Additionally, he has appeared on TV and helped develop healthy dining options for Medical City Dallas and Cotton Patch Cafe.
Marcus earned the rank of Eagle Scout and donates his time to several local charities. The exciting opportunity at Sear Steakhouse allows him to utilize his culinary skills to provide high-quality food to the local Rockwall community.
Heath Hawk Cameron Davis Joins Sear
Cameron followed the Rockwall culinary program and their competitive team of 2018 to second place in the nation which kicked off his career. From there he attended Sullivan University in Louisville, Kentucky, while working at one of the top hotels in the city, The Brown Hotel. He then worked in a fine-dining wine bar where he was able to expand his knowledge on various wines before moving back to his home state of Texas.
He moved to Houston and worked as a sous chef for a time, then wanted to elevate his knowledge with the understanding of the culinary industry by working as a fine dining waiter, barback, and bartender at Post Oak Grill. Moving back to Rockwall in 2022, he began working in downtown Dallas at the prestigious restaurant, Monarch, under Executive Chef Eric Dreyer.
The opportunity at Sear Steakhouse has finally given him the chance to give back to the community that created him as well as embrace the Rockwall-Heath rivalry. Through that rivalry and collaboration with Chef Marcus, he was inspired to develop new desserts by following his heart and the desire to bring a smile to everyone he meets.
