As wonderful and carefree as life is in Rockwall, at some point, an injury or debilitating musculoskeletal condition will pop up and try to ruin your day. Perhaps you’re a local athlete who suffered a knee injury on Friday night and desperately wants to return to the field. Maybe you’re a firefighter who sprained her shoulder, a weekend warrior with several chronic sprains and strains, or a resident who wants the hand pain to stop long enough to do some gardening again. When these and so many other issues pop up, it’s nice to know Lake Pointe Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine has always been just a stone’s throw away.

Lake Pointe Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine has provided high-quality, efficient, and compassionate care to Rockwall residents and their loved ones for over 30 years. More than just treating knees, shoulders, hands, wrists, elbows, hips, feet, and ankles, they specialize in people — helping each patient overcome whatever has been ailing them so they can enjoy life again.

With additional offices in Richardson, Greenville, and Kaufman, their goal is to be DFW’s premier orthopedic provider. “We’ve grown from two facilities to four since last quarter alone and have gone from two surgeons to seven and two mid-level providers in the seven years I’ve been here,” said Jennifer Beck, Lake Point’s chief operating officer. “We’ll always be in Rockwall; this is our home. But now that we are expanding east and west, we can also help those underserved areas. It’s exciting to see the growth.”

Your Orthopedic Care Providers

Issues with your musculoskeletal system can present with a range of symptoms. But most often, the pain associated with your condition prompts you to find a medical solution. One of the many benefits of working with Lake Point Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is that they’re never short on knowledgeable staff. In fact, their availability is off the charts, many times scheduling appointments on the same day or within 24 hours. That’s a breath of fresh air for residents who may be used to waiting weeks at a time to get an appointment at other specialty practices. And when they do get an appointment, they experience long wait times before seeing their provider.

Lake Pointe Orthopaedics believes no one should wait that long when they’re in pain. Dr. Daniel Aldrich has been with the practice since July 1997 and focuses on general orthopedic studies with a subspecialty interest in shoulder functions. Along with being one of the original LPO founders, he has served as the Chairman Physicians Quality Committee at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Rockwall since 2019. Serving alongside him are partners, Drs. Joel Zarling and Joshua Acree. Drs. Daniel Weido, Jonathan Boyle, Kurt Johnson, and Jagdeep Sodhi round out this highly skilled physician team.

Lake Pointe Orthopaedics & Sports MedicineDrs. Weido, Boyle, Johnson, and Sodhi are the team’s newest members. They are joined by Physician Assistants Erica Mumford and Sibu Kuriakose. All nine professionals utilize the latest surgical and non-surgical means to achieve the best possible patient outcomes — whether it’s a mild foot sprain, a more severe Achilles tendon rupture, ACL repair, or broken bone.

Add in Dr. John Birlin’s skills as a physical therapist, and patients have the best of the best catering to their every need.

While some injuries require surgical interventions to ensure your bones and muscles are in their proper places, there are various non-surgical options to increase mobility and reduce pain. Lake Pointe Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is committed to ensuring that you know your full range of options so that you can heal the way you need to and tackle everything you want to do in life.

“We are more specialized here. Dr. Boyle specializes in hand, wrist, and elbow cases, and Dr. Sodhi specializes in upper extremity and general cases. Dr. Weido handles many of our foot and ankle patients, and Dr. Johnson specializes in total joint replacement.

Our hand surgeons also specialize in trauma and nerve damage, and our foot and ankle surgeon is also a general podiatrist who is also fellowship trained in handling things like a ruptured Achilles or saving a foot for a diabetic patient,” Beck said. “Essentially, their experience allows us to do so much more than a general orthopedic surgeon.”

Proven Results

Lake Pointe Orthopaedics has some of the best-trained and most experienced physicians in sports medicine and orthopaedic surgery. And Beck said there is no greater joy than watching a patient — they treat patients of all ages, from infants to seniors — who came in with a new injury or chronic pain they’d been dealing with for years find a new lease on life. They are happy and pain-free rather than be held back from doing the things they love. Lake Pointe Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine routinely surveys patients to discover where they can improve. Every time, patients praise their prompt scheduling, compassionate diagnoses and support, expert surgical practices, and friendly staff.

“We are growth-minded right now, but patients continually share that our doctors go above and beyond to provide care,” Beck said. “Our patients don’t feel like a number. They can tell our doctors listen and never seem rushed. That’s a big deal.”
