From early childhood, Dr. Ashlyn Snikeris
knew she would be a dentist.
“I wanted to be a
dentist since I was six years old,” said Dr. Snikeris. “There is honestly no
better feeling to me than doing what I love and helping people feel better
about their smile. The power of a beautiful smile changes a person’s
self-esteem immediately — even their attitude towards the
world.”
This kind of enthusiasm for dentistry is what
has driven Dr. Snikeris to where she is today, which is right back in The
Woodlands, where she was born and raised. She and her husband, Jordy
Snikeris, welcomed their first child, Addison, to the world on July 31 of
this year.
“As my parents did before me,” said Dr.
Snikeris, “my husband and I always knew we wanted to come back to The
Woodlands, plant our own roots, and establish both our family and our
business here.”
After graduating from The Woodlands High
School, Dr. Snikeris attended Texas A&M and graduated with a
biomedical sciences degree. She then attended the University of Texas School
of Dentistry in Houston before returning to The Woodlands with the goal of
providing the highest quality dentistry to
her community.
Prior to owning Snikeris Family Dentistry,
Dr. Snikeris worked at the practice for three years with the former owner,
Dr. Kim Andersen. This experience enabled her to build meaningful
relationships with both the patients and staff before stepping into the role
of owner.
Snikeris Family Dentistry is truly a family
practice. Dr. Snikeris’ husband, who played baseball at LSU and graduated
with a Master of Science in finance, helps with the business management side
of the practice.
“As a family,” said Dr. Snikeris, “we strive
to be a blessing to all of our patients, staff, and
community.”
That family vibe extends to the staff and
patients at Snikeris Family Dentistry. Many of the staff are long-standing
employees. One such person is Connie Clift, the office manager. She sets the
tone for every patient who walks in the door, making sure they are called by
name and welcomed with a happy smile.
Connie has been at the practice for 17 years,
and everyone knows and loves her. She can hold a conversation with every
patient that makes them feel right at home and alleviates any anxiety they
may have in a dental office.
“We take great pride that we know all of our
patients by name,” said Dr. Snikeris. “We take a genuine interest in their
lives, and we get to know their families.”
The hygienists, too, play a big part in making
patients feel comfortable. Their compassion is something Google reviewers
mention repeatedly. Patients rave about how gentle and thorough they are;
they take the time to explain every detail of what the patient is
experiencing. At Snikeris Family Dentistry, patients feel at ease because
they know they will be treated with compassion and their voices will be
heard.
As a result of the dedication to excellence
and a family-centered culture, Snikeris Family Dentistry has experienced
exponential growth. Dr. Courtney Schweinsberg (another graduate of The
Woodlands High School) joined the team in August of last year, allowing
Snikeris Family Dentistry to reach more patients and care for them in a timely
manner. Dr. Schweinsberg received her undergraduate degree from the
University of Arkansas, then graduated from dental school at the University
of Oklahoma College of Dentistry.
“With the addition of Dr. Schweinsberg, we
have been able to provide the highest quality dental care to more members of
our community,” said Dr. Snikeris. “We are excited that we have been able to
expand the team, giving us the ability to keep the family-like culture.” Snikeris
