Thanks to her recent discussions on fire prevention at school, Thomas Haley Elementary School third grade student Isabelle Rooney’s rapid report to emergency services after discovering smoke coming from a local apartment complex in Irving resulted in an Irving Fire response which was quickly able to extinguish the fire and hold the threat to a minimum. As a result of Isabelle’s actions, she was recently awarded a “Certificate of Appreciation” by the Irving Fire Department. Nice work!
