Dr. Celesta Ferreira Cypress Optique

Dr. Celesta Ferriera (Dr. C), owner of Cypress Optique, was instilled from childhood with the importance of leadership by the example and instruction of her entrepreneurial parents and mentors.

“My parents were leaders in our family lives, of course,” said Dr. C, “but also in the community and in business. They were always giving back to those in need, and taught us how to lead with compassion and grace.”

“Whether it be volunteering at the Children’s hospital or be active in our Church missions, we were also taught to be humble and to stay determined.

Dr. C also inherited her strong work ethic from her family. She witnessed their hard work and how they built businesses from the ground up, which inspired her to work hard at everything she attempted. “Seeing that persistence and dedication is what inspired me to take a leap of faith in opening my own clinic.”

“As a business owner, mama, and wife now, I have tried to always stay true to the values and morals that I was taught from a young age. Those pivotal years of childhood played a huge role in the woman I would become.”

Now Dr. C feels like it’s her turn. She is dedicated to teaching her two sons the qualities of good leaders: manners, respect, compassion, and empathy, alongside strength and confidence—qualities she also embodies for her staff.

“My goal for my company, is to empower my staff to show each and every patient the highest level of patient experience. From the moment they walk in, we want them to know they are family,” said Dr. C. “Often a shock to some, I was a very shy kid. My mom enrolled me in pageants and speech competition to help me overcome my insecurities and my fears. Those experiences challenged me to believe in myself and find my voice, so I encourage my staff to be bold about what they are passionate about. I believe that leading with heart and passion can elevate anyone above and beyond anything you learn from a book.”

“We believe that being apart of the community is vital to cultivating a good work culture. Seeing our patients outside the office at 5ks, school screenings, and even the grocery store allows us to be more than just their doctors office.”

When Dr. C and her family moved back to the area, they researched the communities that they believed would be a great fit. Cypress stood out because it’s growing and a safe place to raise a family.

“There is so much going on here,” said Dr. C, “so much innovation. We love it. Even before I wanted to do business out here, I knew I wanted to be involved in the community where that famous Texas hospitality is alive and well.”
