For the past 17 years, Dr. Brigette Koetter, owner of Dental Professionals of Rockwall, has been providing comprehensive dentistry with compassionate care to multiple generations of families in the Rockwall area. Rebecca Harper, DMD – Associate Dentist

Dr. Koetter is thrilled to have Dr. Harper on her team as an associate. Dr. Harper joined the Dental Professionals of Rockwall staff one year ago, bringing new techniques in general and cosmetic dentistry. She is a proud alumna of Texas A&M University, where she met her husband. Dr. Harper continued her studies at Woody L. Hunt School of Dental Medicine where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. She grew up in the Dallas area and is excited to return home with her two Dobermans.

Revolutionary Technology

Intraoral cameras and digital X-rays with small sensors make routine exams easier and more pleasant. Intraoral scans enable Dr. Koetter to evaluate overall oral health and how a bite fits together. High-definition images can pinpoint areas of concern that can possibly prevent future issues from occurring. This technology allows the patient to be involved in the treatment planning.

Same-Day CEREC Crowns

“We have the most innovative method for creating dental restorations right here in our office,” Dr. Koetter explained. CEREC is the groundbreaking crown-development process where patients no longer have to experience gooey, cumbersome impressions. The process starts with Dr. Koetter replicating a 3D model of the patient’s mouth using a state-of-the-art scanner. The scanner projects the image onto a large screen for viewing. She can then design a custom porcelain crown that’s carved to her exact specifications. The patient goes home with the crown the same day, eliminating the need for a temporary restoration and extra appointments.

Take-Home Sleep Studies and Dental Evaluation

Snoring, grinding, and excessive wear and erosion on back molars are all signs pointing to sleep apnea. Successive periods of interrupted nighttime sleep leave you feeling unrefreshed and groggy in the morning. Dr. Koetter offers easy and convenient take-home sleep studies to detect issues relating to dental health and quality of sleep. The study results are evaluated by a sleep specialist and sent to Dr. Koetter for review. If necessary, she’ll design oral appliances or devices based on these results to help moderate mild sleep apnea, especially for patients who can’t wear a CPAP device.

Dr. Koetter believes investing in extensive continuing education courses strengthens her wealth of knowledge and skills. Educating herself on an ongoing basis, she remains up to date with the latest technology and equipment. This level of dedication and expertise proves her to be a leader in the field of dentistry. She’s also an active member of a round-table study club that reviews difficult cases and creates the best solutions for patients. This allows her to develop cohesive treatment plans for patients with many favorable options.

Credentials

Dr. Koetter earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in 2007. While in dental school, she served two years as a teaching assistant for the undergraduate orthodontic department. She was recognized as a Senior Departmental Advanced Studies program participant in orthodontics and was honored with the John C. and Ruberta Weaver Award for Excellence in Periodontics and Prosthodontics. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Additionally, she’s a mentor to young women through the dental assisting program in Rockwall’s Gene Burton Career Center.

Family

The mother of three children ages 18, 16, and seven, Dr. Koetter spends her leisure time with her family, enjoying their weekends together. Her eldest daughter is in pre-dental studies at the University of Oklahoma. Just like her mom, she wants to pursue a career in dentistry.
