Sheila Esparza is an experienced nurse practitioner at Vital Clinic & Spa, an award-winning primary care clinic and medical spa that offers everything from annual physicals to innovative aesthetic treatments. She loves educating her patients about their health and well-being. “Education is the most important thing we provide, hands down,” Sheila says. “The more we pour into our patients, the more successful they’ll be.”
Her patient-centered approach is rooted in this foundation of education. Sheila listens to her patients’ concerns and takes the time to thoroughly address them. She values holistic treatments and always explores alternatives to medication when possible. “There are times when medication is necessary, but I always like to explore other avenues first,” she says. “If we can help the body heal naturally, I’ll guide my patients in that direction.”
Sheila enjoys working with women, particularly those going through perimenopause and menopause. “When you’re around 35, your hormones start declining a bit,” she says. “A lot of women feel like they’re falling through the cracks because their labs come back normal, and doctors tell them they’re fine or just recommend over-the-counter solutions.” Sheila helps women understand their options, including hormone therapy and other treatments, to restore their quality of life.
She’s excited that Vital Clinic & Spa offers the Empower by InMode technology, which is especially beneficial for women dealing with incontinence, vaginal dryness, or other concerns linked to aging. This non-invasive treatment uses radiofrequency to stimulate collagen production and strengthen the pelvic floor.
Sheila is passionate about helping women feel their best both inside and out. “I really take the time to listen and offer a compassionate ear,” Sheila says. “When women feel heard and understood, it creates a space where they can open up about their most intimate struggles. That’s when real healing begins.”
Her ability to create a welcoming, supportive environment has made a significant difference for many patients. “It’s an awesome feeling when I help someone overcome something they’ve been dealing with for so long,” Sheila says. “I know I’m in the right place, helping people in the way I’ve always wanted to.”
Certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Sheila is currently working toward her PhD with aspirations to teach in the future. “I’ve always been someone who loves learning,” she says. “I’m excited to continue growing in my field so I can give even more back to my patients and my community.”
Sheila finds balance by spending time with family, traveling, and playing with her St. Bernard puppy. Above all, she’s simply happy to be there for her patients, whether through offering a listening ear, educating about treatment options, or providing holistic care.
