For more than three decades, Texas Health Family Care has faithfully served the residents of Rockwall and the surrounding area. Their primary care physicians specialize in the full range of services for family medicine.

Dr. Victoria Smithers is one of the clinic’s family practitioners and has been in practice in Rockwall for 23 years. The other doctors include Lindsey Foote, MD; Richard Bellinger, MD; Wesley Acker, MD; Greg Muns, MD; and Robert Stark, MD.

“We are a group of six physicians and five advanced practice providers. Our practice is growing,” she said, “and we have availability for new patients. Between the 11 healthcare professionals in the clinic, we treat the entire family, including pediatrics, women’s care, adult, and elderly — general family medicine. We have a great staff and a great group of new providers. We are ready to work hard. As the community grows, our goal is to better serve our friends, families, and neighbors.”

Texas Health Family Care has been in the Trend Tower, overlooking Lake Ray Hubbard, for the last 10 years. The beautiful setting is easily accessible. Because of the size and flexibility of the staff, same-day availability for acute appointments is always available. Each of the seasoned doctors works closely with the mid-level practitioners, bringing to this practice the new model of medicine.

“Each of our nurse practitioners and physician’s assistants are wonderful additions to the practice and are ready to provide excellent quality care.”

The advanced practice providers include Cynthia Cruz, APRN, FNP; Betsy Null, APRN, FNP; Melissa Pearson, PA; Stephanie Chandler, APRN, FNP; and Cindy Hopkins, APRN, FNP.

The services at Texas Health Family Care include wellness and prevention (well woman, well man, well child, sports physicals, school physicals, immunizations, flu shots); illness/sick care (cold, flu, bronchitis/respiratory, infections, minor injuries, muscle strains, headaches/migraine); chronic disease management (hypertension/high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, arthritis, thyroid disorders, depression/anxiety, allergies, asthma, irritable bowel syndrome, congestive heart failure, weight management, heartburn/gastroesophageal reflux, eczema/skin, sexually transmitted diseases, sleep/insomnia disorders, gastroenteritis); screening and testing (routine blood work, thyroid testing, cancer screenings, X-ray/imaging, EKG); education (nutrition counseling, diabetes education, healthy lifestyle); and other services (preventive care, fever, chronic disease management, ADHD, patient centered medical home).

“It’s a special place,” said Dr. Smithers, “and I think that’s why we’ve been so successful for all these years. And it’s been great to see these new mid-levels join us and carry on some of that work with excitement. We love being able to help our community live healthier and get well. It’s a wonderful thing to be a part of.”

No matter your family’s needs, the Texas Health Family Care team will deliver comprehensive care tailored to your unique needs. With a convenient location and a compassionate approach to medicine, they’ve got you covered when it comes to your health and wellness.
