Janine Hopkins, MD is a super star, balancing her time between a thriving dermatology practice, traveling the world to educate her fellow physicians, investigating and pioneering the latest dermatological breakthroughs, and being a sold-out mom to two awesome grown kids. This year will be another busy one for Dr. Hopkins as she jets off to lecture at the ninth World Congress of Cancer Therapy in London. This time, she’ll be speaking on the topic of combination therapy for inoperable skin cancer and image-guided superficial radiation therapy for non-melanoma skin cancer.

The spring will see her returning to Lisbon, Portugal, to address the 17th Annual 5- Continent Congress International Medical Meeting in Dermatology and Cosmetic Medicine. Her topic this year will be non-surgical eyelid rejuvenation using laser therapy combined with platelet-rich-plasma injections.

For Dr. Hopkins, there are few things as exciting as finding a new technology to improve her patients’ lives. Being able to share that knowledge with physicians around the world means she can increase the impact she’s having on a patient’s way of living. “As a doctor, I’m always looking for ways I can improve someone’s quality of life and keep them stronger longer,” she said. “This way I’m able to impact patients I’ll likely never meet.”

She’s doing just that with the new StarFormer only recently launched in the U.S. “StarFormer is high-intensity magnetic stimulation that can be used to stimulate both the pelvic floor and muscles of the back to treat all types of male or female urinary incontinence and to strengthen the much-needed core,” Dr. Hopkins said. During treatment, the patient sits comfortably in the StarFormer chair fully dressed for 20 to 30 minutes while the magnetic applicators in the chair stimulate muscle contraction in their entire pelvic floor area, leading to increased muscle strength. The result is effective relief of uncontrolled urine flow. But the benefits don’t stop there. The technology’s ability to target multiple muscle groups simultaneously — with additional paddles that can reach the inner thighs, abs, and other areas makes it a versatile option for elective toning. Whether you’re looking to enhance your workout routine, recover postpartum, or rehabilitate after an injury, StarFormer offers a non-invasive method to boost muscle strength and improve overall body tone.

“StarFormer treatment is gentle, fast, painless, and completely non-invasive with no known side effects,” Dr. Hopkins said. “The magnetic pulses harmlessly pass through the patient’s clothing, skin, and bone, reaching otherwise inaccessible tissue. StarFormer can stimulate multiple areas all at once.” So, next time you’re laughing with your girlfriends, incontinence won’t be an issue.

“StarFormer is also great for strengthening your core to prevent injury,” Dr. Hopkins said. “It’s a welcome addition to your workout routine, postpartum, or after an injury. And because skin laxity is often caused by lack of muscle tone, this technology can be successful in tightening skin as well.”

This is just one of many technologies Dr. Janine Hopkins has pioneered in her Southlake practice. She’s also personally curated an advanced skincare line called Hopkins Dermatology Rx to help her patients overcome frustrating skincare issues and anti-aging concerns and has patented CuraCator, a hands-free, needle-free topical applicator device.
