Sometimes you don’t realize how much you needed something until you have it. That’s how it’s been for Lorie Thomas. After years of endearing herself to DFW residents with her roofing and construction company, she’s been joined by her daughter, Logan, who’s come in like a breath of fresh air and elevated everything about Rellek Roofing, along with the other team members.

“Logan has a degree in interior design and an amazing eye for creating the spaces our customers want,” Lorie said. “I couldn’t be prouder of her and more excited about her working with our customers.”

What began in 2022 as a roofing company expanded into much more as happy customers persuaded Lorie to do other jobs for them. “When someone calls a roofing company, they’re often in a vulnerable position,” Lorie said. “When they’ve been hit by a storm, need an aging roof replaced, or are undertaking a home renovation, they need someone they can trust. Once people realized they could trust us, they wanted to work with us, whether it’s on their roof, gutters, fence, garage doors, remodels, or interior spaces.”

The business grew organically from there, as more customers requested additional services and projects. Now, with Logan applying her degree in interior design and being an Allied ASID Member, this woman-owned and -operated roofing company is continuing to evolve.

The team never wants to forget what’s at the heart of all they do. “It’s the relationships with our customers that mean the most to us,” Lorie said. “We’re active with the local chambers, charity events, and networking groups where we mingle with other business owners. As relationships form with these initial contacts, they often transition into friendships, and these friends then become valued customers who enthusiastically refer us to their own networks of friends and family.”

That’s how it goes when you run your business with integrity. “When clients contact us for assistance following storm-related damage, we prioritize honesty and transparency in outlining the necessary next steps. We make it clear that not every situation requires filing an insurance claim; sometimes, a repair is all that is needed,” she said.  If a claim needs to be filed, they take the time to walk customers through the grueling insurance process and keep them in the loop throughout construction. This lead-with-heart philosophy has landed her dozens of five-star internet reviews, an “A” rating with the Better Business Bureau, Google Reviews, and earned her the Greater Keller Chamber of Commerce New Business of the Year her first year in business. They are also a member of Roofing Contractors Associations of Texas (RCAT), National Women in Roofing (NWIR), and National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA).

Outside of work, Lorie prioritizes her family, cherishing moments like weekly family dinners, trips with her partner, a little golf, and Sunday worship gatherings with her two wonderful children. With a deep commitment to serving the DFW community, she regularly donates a portion of each job to support local nonprofits.
