Q&A

Functional Medicine

What kind of services does a holistic health practitioner provide?

My goal with every client is to correct any misalignment in mind, body, and soul. As a person of faith, I believe that each of these aspects has a major impact on how we function physically and emotionally. I have helped people with PTSD from numerous kinds of trauma, anxiety, ADHD, depression, migraines, stroke, thyroid issues, hormone issues, and many more. As a wife whose husband is a LEO and served in the Marines and mom of a Marine, I have a special respect for our first responders and military — both active and veterans. I have a great deal of experience helping them to find the peace and healing they seek.

How is functional medicine different from what I would expect from my regular doctor?

Functional medicine focuses on identifying and addressing the root cause of disease. Each symptom or differential diagnosis may be one of many contributing to an individual’s illness. Rather than just treating these symptoms, together we will discover the underlying cause, forge your own, unique path to healing and achieve sustainable results so that you can take charge of your life once again. Our functional medicine and neurofeedback services can benefit ages birth and up. Unfortunately, the insurance industry does not recognize these kinds of treatments, and I am unable to file insurance for my clients. I will provide an itemized bill and receipt upon request (counseling only), which you can file with insurance.

What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based psychotherapy treatment that was created to help clients desensitize symptoms from past memories, triggers, and negative experiences. This is a phased approach focused on reconnecting the client in a safe and measured way, which allows the brain and body to move towards healing and resolution naturally.

How can Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT) help with my symptoms?

ETT uses light to stimulate specific brain regions, enabling rapid change in emotional and physical distress. Whether you’re grappling with anxiety, lingering trauma, or ADHD symptoms, ETT offers a resolution that happens faster and goes deeper than most conventional methods.

I have trouble coping with daily life, but I’m not even sure what the problem is. Will counseling help?

Individualized counseling provides a caring confidant you can open up to and feel safe with. Together we will explore your struggles and determine what you need to face them with confidence. I work with first responders, children 12 and up, and adults who have experienced trauma anytime, from childhood to the present. We will consider all our available services, including functional medicine, counseling, EMDR, muscle testing, and neurofeedback in our efforts to bring you to a place where you feel equipped to cope with whatever issues you are facing.
