Dr. Jennifer Chou is passionate about taking care of kids’ dental health. It’s what she does all day, every day, at The Smiley Tooth Pediatric Dental Specialists. This child-focused practice provides a full range of services, from routine cleanings and preventive treatments to pediatric sedation dentistry and
emergency dentistry.
Here, Dr. Chou welcomes you to accompany your child to the exam room and be an active part of the exam. She wants to empower kids to learn how to take care of their teeth and educate parents on how to take the best care of their child’s teeth. For example, many parents wonder whether they need to do anything about a cavity in their child’s baby teeth. Dr. Chou points out that some kids don’t lose their last baby teeth until they’re 14. “Left untreated, the tooth can decay and potentially become infected,” she says. “That’s a long time to go with discomfort and pain.”
Dr. Chou and the entire team at The Smiley Tooth aim to put kids of all ages at ease and make it fun to go to the dentist. Get to Know Dr. Chou
A native Texan, Dr. Chou is proud to live in Rockwall and serve families throughout the Metroplex. “I want families to know we’re here for them,” she says. “There’s always a doctor readily available to help when unexpected things happen with their children.”
Dr. Chou earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Texas A&M University and completed specialty training in pediatric dentistry at MetroHealth Medical Center, a teaching center of Case Western Reserve University – School of Medicine and Dentistry. During her training, her peers selected her to the position of chief resident.
Dr. Chou is a board-certified diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a member of the North Texas Dental Society, Texas Dental Association, American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Outside of work, Dr. Chou enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. They especially love traveling and staying active, from hiking Utah’s scenic switchbacks to traversing the bustling streets of The Big Apple.
