A hallmark of Dr. Thornton’s cosmetic surgery practice is taking time, getting to know his patients, and tailoring care to each patient’s desires and expectations. Since 2008, Dr. Thornton has performed numerous successful facial plastic surgeries, breast augmentations, breast lifts and reductions, VASER liposuction, mommy makeover procedures, gynecomastia surgery for men, buttock contouring, and non-surgical aesthetic skin rejuvenation procedures in his medical spa.
Raised in Frisco, Texas, Dr. Thornton received his undergraduate degree from Baylor University and his medical degree from UNT Health Science Center in Fort Worth. His training includes a five-year general surgery residency and a fellowship in surgical critical care and trauma surgery at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he gained extensive experience in complex traumatic injury reconstruction. Pursuing an artistic and creative passion, Dr. Thornton finally completed a dedicated 12-month advanced fellowship in cosmetic surgery accredited by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery focusing on all aspects of cosmetic plastic surgery.
As a double board-certified cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Thornton is committed to ongoing surgical education. He regularly attends national meetings and advanced surgical courses, ensuring his patients receive the most current and safest cosmetic surgery techniques. With nearly 20 years of surgical training and experience, he has been consistently recognized as Living Magazine’s “Top Doc” in Cosmetic Surgery and, since 2016, voted “Best Cosmetic Surgeon” in Living Magazine for Arlington, Mansfield, & Grand Prairie.
Dr. Thornton’s life outside the operating room is filled with personal commitments to his two children and wife, Raquel. His interests include leisure travel, website programming, playing the piano, and avidly supporting the Baylor University football program. Sic ‘Em, Bears!
