Most of us have heard of the diet rollercoaster, and if you’ve lost weight only to regain it, you’ve taken a ride on it at least once. Or perhaps you’ve started diet and exercise programs, but they didn’t go anywhere.
Whatever your experience with weight loss has been, it’s essential to understand that obesity is a complex, life-altering medical condition. Instead of throwing your hands up and feeling defeated, the professionals at Weight Loss Specialists of North Texas are here to help. Their goal is to find a weight loss solution that works for you and to give you the tools you need for health and long-term success.
Customized Solutions, Award-Winning Weight Loss Practice
Everyone’s weight loss journey is personal and unique. Selecting a practice like Weight Loss Specialists of North Texas that focuses solely on weight loss and offers choices is a wise decision. Their full range of weight loss solutions includes medication, nutritional counseling with a registered dietician, and several surgical options. Services also include a monthly virtual support group. During your consultation and evaluation, they will review and explain options so you can make an informed decision.
Everyone on the team is also sensitive to the patient’s unique needs and concerns. The practice’s motto is “You’ve Got This, We’ve Got You,” and they take it to heart. Dr. Ayoola, a board certified, fellowship-trained physician specializing in weight loss solutions, is respected for his exacting surgical skills and countless success stories. He is most loved by his patients for his compassion and caring and his way of making them feel empowered, strong, and capable.
With everything they offer and a vast list of patient success stories, it’s not surprising that Weight Loss Specialists of North has won Best Bariatric Surgeon in Flower Mound for eight consecutive years, including 2023. They’ve also garnered awards in Coppell/North Irving in 2022 and 2023, in the Keller market in 2018 and 2022, and in Frisco/Plan and Prosper. Altogether, it adds up to 15 Living Magazine Best Of Readers’ Choice awards in eight years. While it’s gratifying for the team to be recognized as the best, the recognition reflects the practice’s dedication to providing exceptional patient care and excellence in weight loss solutions.
Weight Loss Medications
Weight Loss Specialists of North Texas offers the latest advances in FDA-approved weight loss medications as well as longer-established medications under the direct supervision of its medical doctors.
“Newer medications like Wegovy (semaglutide) injections are popular right now. Along with regular exercise and healthy eating habits, Wegovy can be a great option for patients looking to lose 30 to 40 pounds or less,” says Dr. Ayoola.
Dr. Ayoola cautions that semaglutide isn’t always an adequate treatment for everyone. “If you’ve had certain cancers, it’s not for you, and it may not be your best option if your BMI (body mass index) is over 40,” he explains. He goes on to note that if you choose a treatment such as semaglutide when it isn’t the best option in your case, then you’re only delaying your weight loss and its myriad health and lifestyle benefits.
Surgical Options
When surgery is deemed the best path forward, Dr. Ayoola uses a minimally invasive approach whenever possible to ensure faster and less painful recovery after surgery. During your one-on-one consultation, he will review and explain options so you feel comfortable that your chosen procedure can best meet your needs.
Dr. Ayoola performs a range of surgical weight loss procedures. Sleeve gastrectomy changes the size of the stomach. Duodenal switch, gastric bypass, and single anastomosis duodeno ileal bypass (SADI) reduce the body’s ability to digest and absorb food. He also performs revisional surgery.
Lauren’s Journey
Struggling with obesity from an early age, Lauren used food to cope with stress. She tried everything to lose weight, but nothing worked. Unwilling to give up, Lauren became determined to give it her all. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she had plenty of time to research options and read about Dr. Ayoola. She scheduled a telehealth consultation and felt comfortable with Dr. Aylooa, especially when he recommended the duodenal switch — the same conclusion she came to while researching surgical options.
During her first year after surgery, Lauren happily reported she had zero complications and no food aversions, and working out became a positive way to deal with stress in her life. Today, Lauren’s lost 215 pounds and is thrilled that she’s living a much better, healthier life.
