Ingredients
12 Chicken wings
1 Stick butter
1 Cup Hot sauce
3 Tbsp. BBQ rub
Instructions
Dry the wings: Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. Prepare your wings by patting them dry and then tossing them in 3 Tbsp. of BBQ rub. Place in the refrigerator for 24 hrs.
Smoke the Wings (1 Hr.): Preheat your smoker to 225° and smoke the wings for 1 hr.
Air Fry to Crisp: Preheat the air fryer to 400°, spray the basket with cooking spray, and air fry the wings until golden brown and crisp, flipping halfway. This will be approximately 12 min. or until wings reach 195-200° using a meat thermometer.
Make the Wing Sauce: Melt 1 stick salted butter and whisk in 1 cup hot sauce to create a classic buffalo sauce.
Toss & Serve: Toss the wings in the sauce and serve hot with blue cheese or ranch dressing (and celery if you want the full wing experience).
Pro Tips: Let the seasoned wings rest (preferably overnight) so the seasoning has time to soak in and the flavor goes all the way through the meat, not just the outside. Don’t overcrowd the wings in the air fryer to promote even cooking.
