“Our high-deductible/cash plan aims to assist the uninsured, underinsured, individuals with rising premiums/deductibles and limited healthcare options as well as employers,” says

Here’s how it works: Patients prepay $550 to $1,100 and receive a range of visits for the year with the primary care doctor. For example, you can bring your kids for things like sports physicals or sick visits or come in yourself for things like chronic disease management, annual physicals, and more.

“We’re proud to offer this for people whose jobs don’t provide insurance or who may be between insurance,” says Dr. Middleton. He adds that some patients with insurance choose to purchase the plan simply because of how high their insurance deductibles are. “Should they need a specialist or a procedure, they can use their insurance,” he says. “People who use it really like it and appreciate it.”

PPA also offers concierge medicine that gives you 24/7 access to Dr. Middleton or Dr. Thomas. You also benefit from longer appointment times, Saturday and after-hours appointments, and direct hospital admissions (when possible). Dr. Middleton completed his medical degree at Howard University and his internship and residency at Franklin Square Hospital Center, a University of Maryland, College of Medicine program.
