Q&A

Prosthodontics

What is prosthodontics?

It’s a specialty that requires more training than general dentistry and allows me to address larger, more complex cases, such as, crowns, bridges, implants, dentures, occlusion, full-mouth rehab, and any other aspect of restorative dentistry.

What distinguishes your practice from other dentists in the area?

We have been in the Allen area since 1999, so we have an established, trusted practice. Since day one, we’ve been customer service oriented. Our patients know us and trust us to provide quality dentistry. We treat all our patients like we would treat our family.

What kinds of services do you provide?

Even though we specialize in prosthodontics, we are also a family dental office. Some of our patients come in for a checkup and cleaning, while others have more complex cases. Each patient that I see is unique, and we address their needs on a case-by-case basis. That could be an issue with their bite or missing teeth that will need to be restored in order to establish aesthetic and function and improve quality of life.

How do I know what treatment is right for me?

My goal for each patient who comes to see me is to save their natural teeth if I can.

In instances when this can’t be done, either because they come with missing teeth or teeth that are unsalvageable, I will present multiple treatment options and discuss with the patient their expectations, outcome, and sequence of treatment. We will work together to develop a treatment plan that works for them.

If I decide to proceed with treatment, what does that look like?

After the comprehensive exam and studying the case, we always sit with the patient and explain their options. Certain cases will require involving other specialists. It could be an oral surgeon, periodontist, endodontist, or an orthodontist. I work closely with doctors in each of these fields. This allows for my patient to have a team working on their case in order to have the best possible outcome.

What’s the cost and how can I pay for it?

The cost will vary depending on the case, which is why we offer the patient multiple options. We help our patients navigate their dental benefits, and if you need financing, we offer Care Credit. Our office provides an in-house membership plan that any patient without dental insurance can sign up for. We try to help our patients achieve what they need to have good oral health.
