At Ighani Eye Care, “I care, you’ll see” is more than a tagline. It’s a window into the individualized and experienced treatment you’ll receive.
“Our goals are happy patients and good results,” says Dr. Farshid Ighani, known affectionately as “Dr. I.” “We have an experienced, well-trained crew and we focus on making sure our patients understand the treatments we’re recommending. Then we go forward with trust and the latest technology to improve their vision in every way we can.”
Dr. I’s dad was a dentist and his mom, a nurse. His brother grew up to be an anesthesiologist and his sister, an internal medicine doctor. So, when it was young Dr. I’s turn, he chose ophthalmology as his field of study. He was drawn to the artistry and intricacy of eye surgery as much as he desired to get to know and serve patients for a lifetime. Ophthalmology offered the perfect mix of technical and relational, science and art. He earned his undergraduate degree at UT Austin and attended medical school at Texas Tech.
Ighani Eye Care was founded in 2022. After serving on the surgical team at leading eye surgery practices in the Metroplex since 2009, Dr. I was able to realize his dream of establishing a different kind of eye practice.
More than a provider of the latest advancements in ophthalmology, Dr. I’s vision isn’t just about technology — it is about people. Each person who walks through the doors of Ighani Eye Care is treated with respect, honor, and warmth. Each member of Dr. I’s team is committed to this same philosophy.
A growing reputation for compassionate and high-quality eye care inspired Dr. Ighani to expand his practice . In January 2026, Ighani Eye Care opened a new location in Southlake, in the former Clearview Eye Care and Laser Center location, which closed last year.

Dr. Wallace Ryne joined Ighani Eye Care in January 2026, bringing more than 40 years of dedicated eye care experience to the Ighani team. Dr. Ryne built a legacy of leadership, innovation, and service in the field of optometry, co-founding Clearview Eyecare and Laser Center, one of the country’s largest laser vision correction companies. Dr. Ryne is happy to bring his vast experience and LASIK surgery expertise to the Ighani Eye Care team.
Throughout his career, Dr. Ryne has been a respected voice in refractive surgery, lecturing in over 50 cities across the U.S. and Canada and educating hundreds of affiliated doctors on advanced laser vision technologies. Prior to founding Clearview, he maintained private practices in both Southlake and Uvalde, Texas, and served as executive vice president of the Beacon Eye Institute.
The Ighani Eye Care team member who keeps the whole operation running smoothly is Practice Administrator Amanda Sklar. Amanda was with Dr. Ighani when he first opened the Bedford office on Valentine’s Day, 2022. She spent the prior 17 years working with Dr. Ryne at Clearview, so reuniting with him at the new Southlake location of Ighani Eye Care is a true full-circle moment for her. Amanda plays an instrumental role in shaping the ethos of the practice, embodying the core values of respect, honor, and warmth in every patient interaction.
Patients in North Texas seeking convenient, precise, and comfortable cataract surgery can look no further than Ighani Eye Care. A new cataract surgery suite, opened in 2024, and the cutting-edge LenSx® Laser System, provide exceptional eye care that
transforms lives.

Unlike traditional cataract surgery, which may require IV sedation and fasting beforehand, Ighani Eye Care laser cataract surgery is swift, taking only 6-10 minutes. Patients receive oral sedation, eliminating the need for needles and fasting, making the process more comfortable and convenient.
This state-of-the-art laser cataract surgery suite is conveniently located within the Ighani Eye Care Bedford office, so patients can rest assured they’ll be greeted by the same friendly staff and familiar faces they’ve come to trust.
Here’s what one patient had to say about her cataract surgery: “From start to finish, my experience at Ighani Eye Care was incredible. Everyone on the team is so professional and personable. Dr. Ighani didn’t just restore my vision; it’s better than it was before!”
This warm and experienced staff is no accident. Dr. Ighani carefully selected medical professionals who wanted to work closely with patients and who could offer the attentive and considerate care that made patients feel at home.
“We emphasize work-life balance for our staff,” Dr. Ighani says. “A healthy approach to these issues reduces stress and allows our staff to respond with more compassion and creativity to our patients’ needs.”
At Ighani Eye Care you will find up-to-the-minute treatment for all your vision needs. Many eye conditions and diseases have no early warning signs. This is why a dilated comprehensive medical eye exam provided by Ighani Eye Care is so important.
And don’t worry if your insurance plan doesn’t specifically cover eye care. Vision is considered a medical need and health insurance almost always covers the treatment needed. Whatever your exam may reveal, Dr. I and his team are ready to help with anything from more minor eye concerns like blurry vision, scratches, eye infections, conjunctivitis (pink eye), dry eye, difficulty seeing up close and even pterygiums all the way to macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, glaucoma, cataracts, keratoconus, and retinal tears and detachment.
LASIK has become one of the most popular surgeries to correct vision and reduce the need for glasses and contact lenses. LASIK is an acronym for Laser-Assisted in-Situ Keratomileusis. It is a type of refractive surgery commonly referred to as laser vision correction. LASIK treats nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia) and astigmatism. So, if you wear glasses and/or contacts, and you fall into one or more of the above-mentioned categories, LASIK may be a great choice for you. Dr. Ryne and Dr. Ighani both perform LASIK surgery at the surgery center located in the new Southlake office of Ighani Eye Care.
While LASIK is a great solution for poor vision, it’s not right for everyone. In fact, Dr. I wears glasses himself because he’s not a perfect candidate for LASIK. Because he is committed to making sure every person he recommends LASIK to is an ideal candidate, he uses several highly advanced diagnostic and screening devices to ensure LASIK will deliver a positive outcome to the patient. Dr. Ighani puts his patients first and simply won’t perform LASIK on anyone who isn’t an excellent candidate.
At Ighani Eye Care, you can trust that your needs will come first and that the physicians and staff will offer you excellent care with warmth and compassion.
“Our goals are happy patients and good results. We have an experienced, well-trained crew and we focus on making sure our patients understand the treatments we’re recommending. Then we go forward with trust and the latest technology to improve their vision in every way we can.”
