Winning once can be an accomplishment. Winning eight years in a row says something more.

For Brad Moss, DDS, being voted Best Of in Living Magazine’s Readers’ Choice awards for the eighth consecutive year reflects the relationships he and his team have built with generations of North Texas families — and a philosophy that begins with something surprisingly simple: listening.

“We actually care, and we actually listen,” said Polly, RN, Dr. Moss’ wife and longtime partner in life who now works alongside him in the practice. “He’s caring, compassionate, and a really good listener.”

That means a dental appointment doesn’t begin with simply looking inside someone’s mouth. Dr. Moss wants to understand the person sitting in his chair — their medical and dental history, concerns, goals and even previous experiences with dentistry.

“He absolutely does not rush to judgment,” Polly said. “He takes it all in.”

Family Dentistry, Personalized

For more than 35 years, Dr. Moss has cared for generations of patients, combining the personal attention of hometown family dentistry with the latest in technology. A 1991 honors graduate of the University of Texas Dental School in San Antonio, where he earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery, Dr. Moss provides comprehensive general dentistry while building the kind of lasting relationships that allow him to care for patients through every stage of life.

Technology complements that personal approach. Digital X-rays, intraoral cameras, an iTero scanner, and other advanced tools allow Dr. Moss to examine patients carefully and, importantly, help them see what he sees. The iTero scanner creates a 3D digital model of the teeth and gums, functioning like a wellness tracker for the mouth. By monitoring changes over time, it can help identify tooth wear, shifting, cracks, and changes in the bite early.

Education is equally important. Dr. Moss has long emphasized the connection between oral health and overall wellness.

“As a dentist, I’m a physician of the mouth,” he said. “I want my patients to understand their teeth are the sentinels to the rest of the body.”

It’s an approach designed to make patients participants in their own care rather than simply recipients of treatment.

Care That Earns Loyalty

Perhaps the best explanation for eight consecutive Best Of honors comes from the patients themselves. One recent reviewer called a visit with Dr. Moss and his team “by far the best dentist experience I’ve ever had,” adding, “I’ve never felt so cared for at a dental appointment.”

The kicker? That patient was 80 years old — giving “best dentist experience” a considerable history for comparison.

The Moss family, meanwhile, continues to grow. Dr. Moss and Polly are now expecting their fifth grandchild, bringing the grandchildren to ages infant through eight. And perhaps that family focus explains something fundamental about the practice: Patients aren’t hurried through. They’re known, heard and cared for.

Eight Best Of wins are certainly worth celebrating. But for Dr. Moss, the greater honor may be the trust behind every one of them.

NEW PATIENTS WELCOME!
