If you’re struggling with chronic health issues and feel like you’ve hit a dead end, Dr. Mila McManus, founder of The Woodlands Institute for Health & Wellness, is here to help. With more than 20 years of experience in functional medicine, she understands exactly what you’re going through because she’s been there herself.
“I wasn’t getting answers from conventional medicine,” she says. “By the time I finished my medical residency, I piled on 12 prescriptions and felt worse than ever.” Determined to find better solutions, she switched to functional medicine, which focuses on treating the root causes of ailments rather than masking symptoms with pills. This transformative approach has not only healed her but has empowered her to help countless others. One patient said, “The Woodlands Institute for Health & Wellness gave me my life back!”
Dr. McManus welcomes men, women, and children of all ages and offers numerous wellness programs and treatments. Whether you’re dealing with a chronic condition, or you want to improve your overall wellbeing, or you need help with common issues like anxiety, depression, fatigue, or allergies, Dr. McManus can offer more natural and healing therapies.
“It’s so rewarding to see our patients thrive after they embrace a healthier lifestyle and natural treatments,” she says. “Functional medicine is holistic. Instead of looking at one organ at a time, we dig deep to uncover the root causes of illness and aim to heal naturally.”
In addition to her many holistic treatments, Dr. McManus recently introduced hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) to her clinic. HBOT can benefit athletes, those recovering from surgery or injury, and people with chronic conditions like fibromyalgia. It works by increasing oxygen levels in the body, which promotes healing and boosts overall health.
The Woodlands Institute for Health & Wellness also provides complementary cancer care, an area Dr. McManus has always been passionate about, having had close family members impacted by the disease. “When people don’t know where to turn, they can turn to us,” she says.
Dr. McManus’ practice continues to grow, with four providers now and plans to expand even further this year. This growth allows her to reach even more individuals who are seeking alternative solutions for their health challenges.
Dr. McManus became certified by the American Academy of Biologically Identical Hormone Therapy in 2004 and holds board certification from the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Organic Horticulture Benefits Alliance, and is the Medical Director for Serenity Sips Bar and Wellness Emporium.
