Thirteen years ago, what started as Karri Shojaei-Wilson’s dream has blossomed into multiple locations dedicated to helping children with autism reach their full potential. The initial Marigold ABA Therapy Center’s humble beginnings at the Little Green Cottage in Downtown Rockwall has substantially expanded, providing thriving programs to six locations across the Metroplex.

The significant growth has evolved to deliver a comprehensive blend of therapy and education tailored to their clients’ needs. Karri’s ardent focus for each location is to encourage children’s development through the centers’ programs and ultimately mainstream these children back into the private school system.

A Journey from Dream to Reality

“We take pride in being the only program that seamlessly integrates learning and therapy under one umbrella,” said Founder and Director Karri Shojaei-Wilson. A leader in her community, Karri developed Marigold ABA Therapy Centers with a passionate desire to create a successful setting for children with autism and cognitive disabilities. Each location provides an exclusive element to the Marigold program, offering slightly different curriculums tailored to either a child’s age group or levels of disability.

Exciting Expansion of Programs

As part of their continued growth, Marigold ABA is thrilled to announce the opening of new locations this fall, marking the launch of The Marigold Ranch. This outdoor learning environment is designed to foster social development and hands-on experiences. The Social Buddies program will feature interactions with a variety of equestrian animals, including their two enthusiastic mini-donkeys, Charlie and Apollo, who can’t wait to meet everyone.

With the incorporation of cutting-edge AI technology and the support of our beloved therapy animals, we are enhancing the way our students engage with education. AI-driven interventions allow us to provide ethical, responsible, and highly effective learning experiences, empowering students to achieve their therapy and educational goals.

In addition to AI, Marigold ABA is excited to introduce gamified simulation learning. This innovative approach immerses students in realistic social and communication scenarios, helping them build essential life skills in a dynamic and engaging way.

Reaching Developmental Milestones

“Through developmentally appropriate play, a child can reach crucial milestones for physical, sensory, and social development,” Karri explains. Large outdoor spaces for movement provide opportunities for building friendships through team sports, camps, and social skills programs. The activities and programs allow children to play, explore, and socialize with peers in an educational environment that’s relaxing, safe, and fun.

Activities are guided by a team of skilled professional therapists. Individual needs of each child are accommodated by using developmentally appropriate curriculum, therapies, and learning materials that benefit and support children’s emotional and social needs and goals. If needed, in-home support through specialized treatment plans is available through their certified therapists.
