Building strategic solutions for individuals and businesses
When Starr Law Firm works with a family-owned business, they do so with more insight than most. That’s because they, too, are a family-owned business. As such, they understand firsthand the challenges their clients are facing. Clients of Starr Law Firm also benefit from working with Bert Starr on their tax law issues, Laura Starr for their estate planning, and Michael Presbitero for their business law needs, making Starr Law Firm a one-stop shop for business, estate planning, real estate, tax, and probate needs.
If you have a small business, you may be an expert in your field, but you’re probably not an expert in the law. Don’t wait until legal issues arise to enlist the help of a business attorney. Partnering now with a business attorney like Michael Presbitero can help you head off trouble and ultimately realize your business’ full potential.
Whether it’s drafting or reviewing contracts for your customers, suppliers, and employees, protecting your intellectual property, negotiating real estate matters, even developing an exit strategy, enlisting the right business attorney can make all the difference for you, your business, and your family.
Michael joined Starr Law Firm with not only a solid background in business and business law but a passion for working with clients throughout the life of their business. “I enjoy helping clients start a business,” Michael said. “From there, I enjoy helping them navigate through growth phases, adapt to market changes, and ultimately realize long-term success.”
Recently, Michael put in considerable work preparing his business clients for changes in the law governing non-compete clauses, which don’t look like they’ll ultimately be implemented. “In August, a federal judge struck down the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) non-compete rule, which would have banned non-compete clauses in most instances,” Michael said. “The legal landscape relating to non-competes remains unaffected while the FTC continues the legal process. But the FTC will have a difficult road ahead because court’s will no longer afford them broad deference in their rulemaking authority now that the Supreme Court of the United States has overturned the Chevron doctrine.”
Having his finger on the pulse of such changes provides peace of mind for clients who know Michael will help them protect their interests and navigate the ever-changing business world. “I’ve always been a person who enjoyed fixing problems for people,” he said. “That’s the crux of what I do now, working collaboratively with my clients and finding solutions for their big and small problems, helping them add value to their business, and saving the causes that matter to them.”
Starr Law Firm is also passionate about giving back to their community. They do this in many ways, including their support for Plano Christmas Cops Program and their annual toy drive as well as for Assistance League of Greater Collin County, where Michael is a longtime advisory board member.
