From the time he was five, Jared Julian’s parents knew they were raising a future attorney. And they were absolutely right. On the other hand, while Willie Johnson grew up in his own parents’ DFW law firm, he never saw a law career in his future. In the end, however, you might say, the law chose Willie.

So, while Willie was honing his skills as a prosecutor, Jared established and began growing a successful family law firm. When Willie was ready, he joined him there and the two men set about hand-selecting their team of associates and paralegals and establishing a unique culture where every member of the team weighs in on every case.

“Our team works unlike any other firm I’ve known,” Jared said. “We meet weekly or sometimes biweekly to review every single case. Each member has input on that case. It’s one way to ensure we’re being proactive to bring about the best possible outcome for our client. Often, people think they’re working with one lawyer and one paralegal, but when they hire us, they’re hiring a team of dedicated professionals all working toward their desired result.”

Prominently displayed on the office wall is the firm’s mission statement.

“The purpose andprimary objective of JulianJohnson, P.C. is the betterment of our clients. In order to achieve this goal, it is the duty of each attorney, paralegal, and staff member to focus on the realistic
goals of those who have entrusted the firm, to guide them through a most difficult time in his/her life, and to provide the highest level of zealous, ethical legal representation.”

These are more than just words — they are marching orders. “That statement is there to remind every member of our team that it’s our job to listen, to understand the client’s needs and goals, to thoroughly investigate and prepare, to counsel the client and manage realistic expectations, to effectively communicate with that client, to be aggressive in seeking and obtaining the best outcome for our clients, and never to compromise our integrity or ethics for anyone or for any purpose,” Willie said.

Meet Jared Julian

In his 23rd year practicing law, Jared W. Julian is the founder, CEO and managing shareholder of operations of JulianJohnson, P.C. Board certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 2017, he joins the ranks of less than one percent of Texas law attorneys. Mr. Julian has achieved the ranking of “Super Lawyer” every year since 2018, a distinction limited to only five percent of Texas attorneys. The last two years, he’s been named a Top 100 Lawyer in the DFW area by Super Lawyer out of 20,000 DFW attorneys.

A Plano native, he served as a licensed Texas peace officer before attending law school and garnering extensive litigation experience. Prior to founding JulianJohnson, P.C., he was the managing partner at Julian, Crowder, and Shuster, P.C. and a partner in McCracken, Taylor, and founded The Julian Firm, P.C.

For over 20 years, his practice has focused on family law handling well over a thousand cases. He’s personally handled extremely high-net-worth divorces, highly contested custody disputes but also counsels his clients through more amicable cases often resolved through settlement. Mr. Julian is a highly sought-after mediator with a successful mediation resolution rate of over 95 percent. He lives in Flower Mound with his wife, Stephanie, and two sons, Dax and Sawyer. His hobbies include playing guitar, hunting, and family time. Since the founding of the firm, he has partnered with Denton County Friends of the Family and has been honored to serve on their board.

Meet Willie Johnson

Board certified in both Child Welfare Law and Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization a designation held by less than 200 of the approximate 105,000 licensed attorneys in Texas, Willie primarily focuses on family law matters including dissolution of marriage, complex property division, high-net worth divorces, child custody, possession and access, protective orders for family violence, stalking and harassment, adoption, pre-marital agreements, post-marital agreements, child welfare, mediation, and CPS cases.

Willie Johnson has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising star from 2022-2024 and is a top ten attorney under the age of 40 in Texas. He is the current vice president of the Denton Bar, a member of the State Bar College and has been the course director for the annual Child Welfare conference held in Denton since 2021. He is particularly proud of his work with Adoption Day where he reached an agreement with the administrative judge and district clerk regarding free court costs and filing fees for those adopting children involved in CPS cases in Denton County.

This DFW native is married to his beautiful wife, Cari. Together, they are proud parents of their son, Alister, and two wacky, yet lovable, goldendoodles, Curry and Archie.

“Many lawyers avoid family law,” Jared said. “We chose family law because it allows us to connect with people and help them on a personal level.”

The firm has a special heart for children and survivors of domestic violence, physical, sexual, or emotional abuse. “We can’t control the circumstances that brought them to us,” Willie said. “But once they’re here, we want to do all we can to make sure they’re protected, set up for success and leave our firm in a better position than when they walked through our doors.”

The team at JulianJohnson, P.C. understands their clients are going through one of life’s most difficult tribulations involving not just their family and finances but their children, relationships, and identity. In essence, it involves everything that’s important to them. When facing such enormous pressure and accompanying anxiety, you need professionals that are calmly and compassionately focused on helping you through this time while aggressively representing you and your interests, professionals such as those at JulianJohnson, P.C.
