A legacy that began in 1924 continues in 2024 as Dr. Michael Fisher and Dr. Marisa Zitterich prepare to welcome Dr. Monica Fisher as the newest dentist at Fisher & Zitterich Dentistry.
Legacy … a word that’s often used, but not as often lived up to. At Fisher & Zitterich Dentistry they take legacy seriously. Dr. Monica Fisher joins the family practice locally owned and operated by her dad, Dr. Michael Fisher, and his partner Dr. Marisa Zitterich, this summer after graduating from the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston. Monica’s dream of becoming a dentist had its beginning when she was in middle school, and helped her brother clean their father’s office in the evenings and weekends. Having an artistic eye and a talent for working with her hands, while in high school Monica began working with her dad in his lab, designing and sculpting new smiles. So, the family legacy that began when Dr. Fisher’s grandfather, Dr. W. E. Fisher, graduated from dental school in 1924 continues 100 years later.
Dr. Michael Fisher believes family is not just the relationships you’re born into, but those you choose as well. That’s why eight years ago he chose Dr. Marisa Zitterich to join him to become Fisher & Zitterich Family, Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry. At that time, it was declared that two heads were better than one. And as true as that proved then, they know even more are better now. That’s why Drs. Fisher and Zitterich are joined by Dr. Laura Rabe, a renowned periodontist, and Dr. Salma Haneef, an exceptional general dentist, along with their outstanding team led by Practice Administrator Pam Kovar, to provide a combined century and a half of experience between them. This allows FZ Dentistry to fuse the wisdom of years of real-world experience with the most advanced dental education and technology available today, all with extraordinary care and compassion.

Dr. Michael Fisher, raised in nearby Greenville, is a graduate of Texas A&M University and Baylor College of Dentistry, and a long-time member of Lake Pointe Church, where he co-taught a life group for 15 years and currently serves on the Elder Board. He enjoys supporting ministries and dental mission work both locally, and as far away as South Africa, Haiti, and Mexico. Married for 36 years to his high school sweetheart Carla, they have two children – Landon and Monica, a daughter-in-law Cayley, and two grandchildren, Charlotte and James. Dr. F’s interests include travel, reading, photography, hunting, restoring a 1959 Austin-Healey with his dad, cycling, riding Harley-Davidsons, and spending time with his family.
Dr. Marisa Zitterich, originally from Forney, graduated from UT School of Dentistry in Houston. She received her bachelor’s degree from Baylor University where she graduated magna cum laude, majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry. Married to her high school sweetheart, Kyle, for almost 10 years, they have one son, Kruz, who turns two in April, and are expecting another son in April as well. She has a passion for service and has performed missionary dentistry here in Texas, and farther away in Mexico, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica. Dr. Z. enjoys outdoor activities like CrossFit and spending time with family and friends on the lake.
Dr. Monica Fisher, raised in Rockwall, is graduating from the UT School of Dentistry in Houston in May of 2024. She received her bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences from Texas A&M University, graduating magna cum laude. Monica has served on many dental mission trips with her dad and family to places as far away as Mexico, Haiti, and South Africa. She enjoys serving in her church, reading, travel, photography, art history, spending time with her grandparents and family, and loving on her faithful companion, Taz.
