Dr. Janine Hopkins is a busy woman these days. But that’s nothing new for her. After three and a half years, her Southlake practice is thriving. She’s in big demand as a local, national, and international speaker educating others in her field about the latest dermatological breakthroughs. Most recently she’s been called upon to speak on combination therapy for inoperable skin cancer. This March she’ll be addressing her fellow physicians in London, England, at the 9th World Congress on Cancer Science & Therapy on the importance of introducing ultrasound guidance into radiation therapy. One of the leading dermatologists in the U.S. to offer imagine-guided radiation therapy, Dr. Hopkins has been called upon to lecture far and wide on the subject.

As a trusted provider, Dr. Hopkins has been voted by Living readers as the Best Dermatologist in Northeast Tarrant County by the readers of Living Magazine. She has also been named a Top 10 Dermatologist in Texas in 2024. “As much as I love lecturing at medical meetings, the best part of any day is meeting and treating my patients,” Dr. Hopkins said. “One of the medical breakthroughs I’m thrilled to offer them is image-guided superficial radiation therapy, as an alternative to surgery for non-melanoma skin cancer. It’s a great alternative with no cutting, no surgical scars, no pain, and no downtime for my patients.”

Dr. Hopkins is also well versed in intense pulsed light therapy (IPL) as a proven treatment for visible signs of sun damage. “IPL is an incredibly versatile device,” Dr. Hopkins said. “During IPL treatment, pulses of light are delivered to the skin to target one or more chromophores, such as pigment or hemoglobin, and reduce the appearance of dark spots and redness. I’m having particularly good results combining IPL with topical Levulan. With this combination, I can also target precancer cells to improve the health and appearance of skin.”

Dr. Hopkins is currently working on the next generation of her patented CuraCator topical applicator device. The device, which Dr. Hopkins was invited to present at the International Master Course on Aging Science in Paris, France, allows for hands-free, needle-free application of dermatological products to skin or other tissue. “When I first brought it into the market, CuraCator revolutionized the way medical products could be applied after skin procedures such as laser resurfacing and microneedling with less waste and less danger to patients. This new device will be available for at-home use so people will no longer have to use their finger or Q-tip when applying creams or ointments to their skin. This will be extremely helpful when applying antibiotic ointments to scratches, wounds, or burns.”

Dr. Hopkins personally curated an advanced skincare line called Hopkins Dermatology Rx: to help patients overcome frustrating skincare issues and anti-aging concerns. From acne and hyperpigmentation to sun protection and discoloration, the lotion, serum, or cream can make all the difference for your skin.

Moving forward, Dr. Hopkins is committed to continually pioneering and advancing the latest technology and technique and enlightening others in her field about these best dermatology practices.
