Dr. Kimberly McNeal, a native Texan, was one of those kids who gave 110% to anything she did. With her mind set on a medical career, she tackled higher education with her trademark tenacity. Soon Kimberly had a Master’s Degree in infectious disease and microbiology and was tutoring her fellow students in dental school. Nobody was surprised when she graduated at the top of her class from the University of Kentucky with an avalanche of academic and clinical awards. Kimberly had her sights set on an orthodontic career and soon landed one of the most prestigious residencies in the country at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
That was 30 years ago and they have been wonderful years. As an advocate of technology, Dr. McNeal has flourished in a career that on one hand allows her to invest in the lives of her patients and form lifelong connections with hundreds of families and on the other hand, challenges her to continually reeducate herself about technological advancements and breakthroughs. She even pursued a certificate from the Wharton School of Business in Mastering the Business of Orthodontics. “There’s always something new to learn and something better to offer my patients,” Dr. McNeal said. “I love a career that challenges me to be a lifelong learner. Every day is different and every year there’s something new to teach myself and to offer my patients.”
This next year promises to come with even more changes as she opens the new McNeal Orthodontics in Celina, as one of the only female privately owned orthodontic practices in the area. What can families expect to find at the new McNeal Orthodontics? They can expect the same know-you-by-name care married to the very latest in orthodontics advancements. They can expect to see the same smiling faces every time they visit and they can expect a full menu of orthodontic offerings that have been thoroughly researched and hand selected by a professional with three decades of experience, the same professional patients have voted her Best Orthodontist, for three years running. Here’s a sampling of what you will find at the new McNeal Orthodontics.
Damon Ultima Braces System
Dr. McNeal is master trained in Damon Braces philosophy and treatment. “This is the highest technology available for comfort, speed, and biologic ease,” she said. “While treatment time can vary, the Damon System has been proven to treat faster and require fewer office visits than traditional braces. Their light-force, high-technology, shape-memory wires move teeth more efficiently, reducing treatment times for patients. My patients have been thrilled with broader, healthier smile in less time and with greater comfort than conventional braces.” Damon Braces have been clinically proven for over 20 years and over seven million smiles. They are truly the pinnacle of orthodontic treatment. “Orthodontists and patients love Damon technology because it’s very kind to the supporting structures,” Dr. McNeal said. Plus, the Damon Digital Bonding system assists her in offering customized and dedicated treatment designed specifically for each of her patients.
Remote Monitoring
To make treatment even more convenient and customized, Dr. McNeal has invested in a software that allows her to monitor treatment remotely. “I’m able to follow patients day to day even when they’re not in the office,” she said. “Patients will simply scan their smile once a week using an app on their smartphone which will allow me to track their progress and see if they need to come in to see me or not, eliminating unnecessary appointments. Our goal is truly customized care and this is just one more tool to help us achieve it.”
Spark Aligners
Dr. McNeal’s patients are all ages—as old as their 70s and as young as seven. Many of them opt for clear orthodontic aligners, rather than braces. Dr. McNeal has worked to become master trained in Spark clear aligners. “Spark aligners are advanced orthodontic treatment designed to straighten teeth with precision and comfort,” Dr. McNeal said. “Made from TruGEN, a proprietary material known for its clarity and stain resistance, they’re virtually invisible, so you can straighten your teeth without compromising aesthetics. Basically, nobody has to know you’re undergoing treatment but you.”
Spark aligners resist staining better than other aligners, ensuring they remain clear and discreet throughout treatment. They feature polished edges for a smooth fit against gums and cheeks, reducing irritation and making them comfortable to wear. And they provide precise and efficient tooth movement often in less time than other aligners. Your Spark aligners will be tailored to your specific orthodontic needs, ensuring a personalized treatment plan that addresses your specific dental issues.
Digital Impressions
Dr. McNeal can to take a highly accurate impression of your teeth without the dreaded goop, gagging, or discomfort thanks to digital scanning. “Scanning technology allows me to capture accurate digital impressions of your teeth, gums, and jaw,” she said. “The scanner is a compact, hand-held, radiation-free wand that allows me to scan teeth in two to three minutes.” The laser renders a digitally perfect, 3D impression of your teeth and soft tissue structures resulting in a 3D model for Dr. McNeal to follow while customizing your treatment.
OrthoFi
Dr. McNeal feels excellent care should be available to everyone and her patient’s shouldn’t have to compromise. OrthoFi technology revolutionizes the way patients and families pay for orthodontic treatment making it affordable for any budgets. Dr. McNeal has been practicing in Prosper for over three years and lives in Frisco. She and her husband, Dr. Poineal, (also a dental specialist) are in the process of relocating to Celina, so they can submerge themselves in this wonderful community and invest in its future success. When not creating beautiful, healthy smiles, the Docs spend much of their time supporting the Animal Refuge Foundation. Passionate dog lovers, they have rescued several dogs of her own. “They add so much to our lives and definitely give more than they take,” she said.
“There’s always something new to learn and something better to offer my patients. I love a career that challenges me to be a lifelong learner. Every day is different and every year there’s something new to teach myself and to offer my patients.”
