Dentistry for the Whole Family

Even as a wide-eyed 15-year-old, Dr. Brigette Koetter knew she wanted to be a doctor someday. The trick was figuring out which area of medicine made the most sense for her while being patient enough to explore all paths.

Interestingly enough, her “tour of the profession” needed only two stops before she was sold on her next step.

“I remember first working for a family friend who was an optometrist. After that, I worked for a female dentist, and that was all it took,” she said. “The patients were lighthearted because she was, and it was just a fun environment — which says a lot since dentistry can be hard sometimes. I got to see everything and thought, ‘That’s it … dentistry is what I want.’ Stop number two was it for me.”

Fast-forward to today, and Dr. Koetter’s practice, Dental Professionals of Rockwall, lives and breathes that same mindset. The environment she encountered as a teenager — the laughter, the warmth, the sense that even an inherently uncomfortable experience could be made a little easier and, dare she say, enjoyable — became the kind of practice she wanted to build for herself. Dentistry is more about creating an experience where patients could feel comfortable and cared for. Nineteen years into her career and life in Rockwall, that philosophy remains at the heart of everything she and her team do.

“I wake up every day excited to go to work,” Dr. Koetter said. “It’s my profession and my hobby.”

Meet Your Hometown Dentist

Dr. Koetter graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2002, where she was honored as an OU scholar. She then earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in 2007. While in dental school, she served two years as a teaching assistant for the undergraduate orthodontic department. She was one of three students recognized as a Senior Departmental Advanced Studies program participant in orthodontics and was honored with the John C. and Ruberta Weaver Award for Excellence in Periodontics and Prosthodontics. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. As a leading woman in the Rockwall community, Dr. Koetter was voted Best Of in Living Magazine’s Readers’ Choice awards in 2025 and 2026.

That’s the professional, buttoned-up version. At her heart, Dr. Koetter prides herself on being a true neighbor and community partner. She’s the kind of person who wants her patients to know the woman behind the white coat. In other words, she’s the same warm, genuine person they can count on in the dental chair as the wife and mom of three they might run into at the store on the weekends. She also takes pride in getting to know her patients, from toddlers to adults, and treating them like members of her own family.

Together with Dr. Rebecca Harper, they strive to be a key part of their patients’ team, providing and maintaining not only optimal oral health but good health overall throughout their lives. Dr. Harper joined the practice two years ago after earning her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M and her dentistry degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso. She has been awarded Outstanding Achievement in Implant Dentistry by the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. The Academy of Osseointegration also awarded her the Outstanding Implant Dentistry Award.

Dr. Koetter offers all dental needs under one roof while combining the latest dental innovations with a personal approach that gives patients continuity of care from start to finish. Her practice uses everything from intraoral cameras and digital X-rays to same-day CEREC crowns and custom oral appliances, making it easier for patients to get the care they need without being sent from office to office. They also provide emergency appointments and the latest technology in root canal therapy, cosmetic fillings, all-porcelain crowns, flexible partial dentures, conscious sedation, and nitrous oxide (laughing gas).

Whether it’s relieving the pain of a toothache, showing a young patient that going to the dentist can actually be fun, or performing a complete mouth reconstruction for someone who has lost confidence in their smile, Dental Professionals of Rockwall handles it all.

“Having Dr. Harper here means we can learn from each other, add new technology, and improve accessibility for our patients,” Dr. Koetter said. “For me, it’s all about treating everyone like family; we want that personal touch in everything we do.”

A True Community Partner

Beyond the dental chair, Dr. Koetter is proud to surround herself with a cohesive team of strong women who bring varied capabilities and expertise to her practice. Together, they constantly look for ways to give back to the Rockwall community, with more than 100 hours of volunteer service to organizations such as Meals on Wheels and Hope Delivered.

Dr. Koetter is a long-time board member for the Young Men’s Service League’s Rockwall-Heath chapter. She was also a founding member and served on the board of the National Charity League, Texas Pearl Chapter, for four years. She also served as president of Aspasians, a women’s volunteer organization supporting the community through service and fundraising for college scholarships awarded to local high school seniors.

“We love what we do here, and we’ve been doing it for a long time,” Dr. Koetter said. “My staff is my family, too. I’m passionate about what I do, which makes it great that I’ve surrounded myself with women who are also passionate about what they do. This is our hometown, and we plan to keep it that way for a very long time.”
