Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Grapevine

Making healthcare feel a little simpler
Most people don’t want more complexity in their lives. They already have plenty of that. So when it comes to healthcare, what they want is simple: to know where to turn when they need care and feel confident that someone they trust will be there to guide them through important decisions.
For families across Northeast Tarrant County, that place has long been Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Grapevine. The hospital began as a five-bed facility more than seven decades ago. Today, it’s a 315-bed full-service medical center serving Grapevine and communities throughout the region. But one thing that hasn’t changed is the belief that quality care should still feel personal.
Recognized by neighbors
The locals have noticed. Readers of Living Magazine have named Baylor Scott & White – Grapevine Best Hospital and Best Emergency Room in Northeast Tarrant County, as well as Best Emergency Room in Grapevine. These honors are directly from the people who live here, work here and turn to the medical center when life takes an unexpected turn.
For Clifford Simmang, MD, chief medical officer, those recognitions are about more than any one encounter. They speak to a commitment to helping patients and families feel empowered during every step of their healthcare journey, giving them peace of mind.
“The healthcare experience begins long before a patient walks through our doors,” Dr. Simmang says. “It’s about helping people feel informed, supported and confident as they make decisions about their health. We know patients have a choice. We want our care to be not only competent and high-quality, but with the genuine compassion that patients feel from the amazing culture at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Grapevine.”
A trusted partner for the journey
Healthcare can sometimes feel overwhelming. Keeping track of appointments, understanding test results and knowing what choices to make often isn’t easy. Patients want a care team that can help connect the dots.
At Baylor Scott & White – Grapevine, that means focusing not only on delivering excellent care, but also on creating an experience that feels seamless and simpler to understand.
“One of the most common things we hear from patients is that they want a trusted partner in their healthcare journey,” Dr. Simmang says. “They want someone who can help answer questions, provide guidance and support them every step of the way. We’re helping patients become familiar with the MyBSWHealth app during their hospital stay, so they can stay connected to their care as they transition home.”
As patient expectations continue to change, healthcare is becoming about more than treating illness. It’s about helping people feel empowered to make informed decisions and giving them confidence in their care, from the first phone call to every follow-up visit.
Comprehensive care close to home
In addition to 24/7 emergency care, Baylor Scott & White – Grapevine is the only Level II trauma center in Northeast Tarrant County. That means patients with some of the most severe injuries can receive advanced care without a trip to Dallas or Fort Worth. The hospital also works closely with more than 20 area EMS agencies and implements an early notification program, so care can begin even before a patient arrives. The emergency department also coordinates closely with the intensive care unit, helping provide a smooth transition of care for patients who need additional support.
For many families, the emergency room is their first real introduction to the hospital. The team works to make that first impression a reassuring one.
So do team members working in other areas across the growing campus, which has added more beds and expanded services such as robotic surgery and interventional radiology in recent years. The aim throughout has always been to offer the kind of specialized, high-level care close to home.
Care at every stage of life
Families can rely on Baylor Scott & White – Grapevine to meet them where they’re at in life. That starts with women’s services, which supports growing families. From care before pregnancy through labor and delivery to care after their bundle of joy arrives, a skilled team strives to create cherished experiences. And for newborns who need extra support, the hospital is home to a Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
When every second matters, the hospital’s heart and brain programs give patients access to advanced treatment options. The hospital is accredited as a Primary Heart Attack Center by the American Heart Association and The Joint Commission, reflecting its commitment to timely, coordinated heart care.
For people living with joint or back pain, orthopedics, sports medicine and rehabilitation help patients return to the activities they love and restore quality of life. Advanced imaging, including MRI, CT and PET scans, and 3-D mammography, can also support precise diagnoses and help identify conditions like breast cancer earlier, when more treatment options may be available.
Baylor Scott & White – Grapevine also offers ongoing care for many common conditions. From sleep services to diabetes care to weight management, a wide range of programs are available to help people stay on top of, or ahead of, both chronic and new health challenges.
Earning Trust, One Visit at a Time
While accolades and accreditations are meaningful, it’s the work that it takes to earn them that drives the Baylor Scott & White – Grapevine team.
“Trust is earned through every interaction,” Dr. Simmang says. “We’re grateful for the confidence our community places in us, and we’re committed to continuing to improve the experience we provide.”
That’s why Dr. Simmang says their proudest accomplishment is not a plaque on the wall. It’s the patient who leaves feeling cared for, connected and supported, and who knows exactly where to turn the next time they need care.
“Trust is earned through every interaction. We’re grateful for the confidence our community places in us, and we’re committed to continuing to improve the experience we provide.”
