After receiving a bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences from Texas A&M University, he continued his dental education at UT Health Science Center San Antonio, graduating with honors in 2014. He completed his post-doctoral residency program at UTHSCSA, where he focused on advanced dental techniques, including removal of wisdom teeth, implant dentistry, IV sedation (sleep dentistry), and complex patient management.

Nitrous oxide induces relaxation and can help alleviate any nervousness or discomfort during a dental procedure.

Oral sedation involves the administration of an oral medication prior to dental treatment and is best for those receiving short to moderate-length procedures and those with minimal to moderate dental anxiety. Oral sedation helps create a state of deep relaxation, allowing patients to remain calm and comfortable throughout their visit.

IV sedation is typically administered for longer, more complex dental procedures and surgical treatments. It involves the administration of medication directly into a vein, inducing a deeper level of sedation. IV sedation is highly effective in ensuring your comfort and relaxation during procedures such as wisdom teeth removal and dental implant surgery.

While these sedation options are readily available, Dr. Nesloney’s goal is high-quality, conservative dentistry, which means that hopefully, most patients will never need those complex procedures.
