Women are treated with the utmost care and compassion when they visit Craig Ranch OB-GYN in McKinney, Texas. Founded in 2000 by Dr. Andrew Shimer and serving the North Texas area, the comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology practice has grown to include six board-certified physicians, four certified nurse midwives, and a physician assistant.

Introducing Dr. Elizabeth Lolley

Dr. Lolley is the newest ob-gyn to join the McKinney practice. She was impressed by how much the practice deeply cares about the comfort and health of their patients while providing the best treatment management options. She feels the most important aspect in good healthcare for women is finding a doctor you can trust to make the most informed decisions possible.

Born in San Antonio and raised in Plano, Dr. Lolley pursued her passion for studying medicine after she graduated from Plano West High School. Her bachelor’s degree in human biology was earned at the University of Kansas in 2012. She went on to receive her Doctor of Medicine from Texas Tech University’s Paul L. Foster School of Medicine in 2017.

All physicians at Craig Ranch Ob-Gyn are board certified and have received excellent training from some of the most prestigious programs in the country. The highly-skilled team has more than 50 years of combined experience. They continually strive to remain up to date with the rapidly-evolving advances in women’s health. The team’s vast experience and education in state-of-the-art surgical options for women enables Dr. Lolley and her colleagues to be recognized as leading physicians in the Dallas area.

Following medical school, Dr. Lolley gained invaluable knowledge and experience in multi-modality gynecologic surgery during her four-year obstetrics and gynecology residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. She is trained and certified in robotic surgery and laparoscopic surgery, which speeds and improves healing for faster recovery times.

Dr. Lolley said her favorite procedure she enjoys performing are hysterectomies. She explained that many women are plagued with heavy bleeding, painful periods, and endometriosis. “I like performing hysterectomies because it instantly provides relief and treatment for women suffering with those conditions.”

Prior to moving to McKinney, Dr. Lolley and her family lived in Waco, where she worked in an academic role with a family medical residency. She and her husband, an ER medical training physician at Medical City Plano and Frisco, made the move to McKinney eight months ago. Two months later their daughter, Claire, was born, delivered by Dr. Brittnee McCutchin at Craig Ranch Ob-Gyn. Claire had some esophageal problems after she was born and spent time in the newborn intensive care unit. That experience afforded Dr. Lolly a greater appreciation for understanding the emotions new parents go through when their child is in the NICU.

Dr. Lolley was impressed by how much the Craig Ranch Ob-Gyn team deeply cares about the comfort and health of their patients while providing the best treatment management options. She feels the most important aspect in good healthcare for women is finding a doctor you can trust to make the most informed decisions possible. “It’s a privilege to be able to work with women throughout all stages of their lives.”

Craig Ranch Ob-Gyn provides several amenities not frequently found in other OB-Gyn practices. Their unique variety of services includes complete high-risk pregnancy management, in-office mammography, midwives on staff, and in-office surgical procedures including endometrial ablations.

Convenient, Accessible In-Office Mammography

For the convenience of Dr. Lolley’s patients, the practice provides the ease of in-office mammography services. Patients can see their doctor for both their annual exam and their annual mammogram in just one appointment within the same facility. This easily-accessible feature eliminates the need for making an additional appointment and trip to another imaging center.

High-Risk Pregnancy Management

In addition to offering comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology services, Dr. Lolley and the Craig Ranch Ob/Gyn team specialize in all aspects of high-risk pregnancy management. They have a full time ultra-sonographer located in their office and the ability to do extra monitoring of the pregnancy for those patients that need the extra screening. They also work closely with Maternal Fetal Medicine doctors who help co-manage some of the higher risk patients. The Maternal Fetal Medicine doctors are also located within their facility.

A greater level of attention and monitoring is required for these types of pregnancies. “Women with diabetes, hypertension, or older maternal age are more prone to developing complications,” Dr. Lolley said. She may recommend additional tests to further assess the health and development of the fetus – a biophysical profile or ultrasound can provide her with more detailed information she can then pass on to her patients.

The Midwives

Midwife Birth Experience

For parents desiring a more natural birth experience, certified nurse-midwives are on staff to support moms throughout their pregnancy and birth. Trained professionals, midwives support women to have the healthiest pregnancies and birth experiences possible. Their education and unique set of skills allows them to provide a vast array of assistance to women throughout their pregnancies and deliveries. An integral component to collaborative care between doctors and their patients, midwives focus on patients’ emotional, physical, cultural, and spiritual needs for optimal mother-infant outcomes.
