When it comes to annual doctor appointments, women don’t want to feel rushed and simply handed a prescription. Sometimes they just need someone to really listen and empower them with shared decision-making. As a trusted, board-certified physician, Dr. Renee Chan has made it her mission to provide compassionate care in a comfortable setting where women can speak candidly about feminine issues. Patients trust her wealth of knowledge and expertise as she offers various treatment options to meet their needs.

Dr. Chan and her husband, Dr. Cesar Reyes, work together in partnership with Drs. Luciani and Sadler at Comprehensive OB/GYN. We are so delighted with the addition of Drs. Kirsch and Schneiderman. Their patients have really loved them! The group lives up to its name with six MDs, four nurse practitioners, and a midwife who specialize in various areas of obstetrics and gynecology. Services include contraception, hormone replacement therapy, obstetrics including midwifery, ultrasounds, genetic testing, lab testing, in-office surgery, and mammography. With a main office on Lake Forest, they are excited to announce the return to their original office location on Medical Center Drive in McKinney.

“We’ve really honed our skills to provide every aspect of women’s care as we continue to evolve,” said Dr. Chan. According to Dr. Chan, she was the first OB/GYN certified in robotic surgery in the McKinney/Allen area, performing numerous minimally invasive laparoscopic surgeries utilizing the DaVinci robot at Medical City McKinney and Baylor McKinney.

Her interest and approach to functional medicine led to focused research in menopausal health for a deeper understanding of the root cause of women’s issues. She educates her patients on treatment options, including the use of supplements in addition to in addition to traditional Western medicine when treating menopausal symptoms.

She and Dr. Reyes both specialize in bio-identical hormone therapy. Women’s wellness services are offered, including the groundbreaking Inmode radiofrequency/micro-needling for painful intercourse and vaginal dryness. Body contouring and skin improvement/restoration are additional aesthetic services for complete women’s wellness.

Dr. Chan is pleased to have been honored with a Best of Reader’s Choice 2023 award in McKinney/Allen by Living. Comprehensive OB/GYN has earned other awards in the past from Living, but this is the first time she’s been acknowledged individually. “It’s an honor to be recognized in this way,” she said.

She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of California at Santa Barbara with Summa Cum Laude honors in biopsychology. Later, she attended Saint Louis University School of Medicine, completing both her medical degree and residency training in obstetrics and gynecology. Her extensive training encompassed both routine and high-risk pregnancies, as well as innovative surgical procedures, including total laparoscopic hysterectomies, endometrial ablations, and sling procedures for urinary incontinence. She received the Special Excellence in Endoscopic Procedures Award from Saint Louis University and is excited to bring the latest cutting-edge techniques in minimally invasive surgery to her patients.

Dr. Chan and her husband have three young boys, keeping them busy with multiple sports. Her interests outside of medicine include hiking, traveling, playing the piano, and cooking.
