Burdick Auto Solutions Shifts Beyond Standard

IMG 4830

It began with the simple thrill
of motorsport.
Earl Burdick’s father loved to race cars near
his home in Phoenix, Arizona, and won too many trophies to keep. Earl was
born years later in Dallas, Texas, the first of six children. To save money,
the elder speedster doubled as his own pit crew, wielding wrench and ratchet
in his home garage. Young Earl watched and learned. It was quickly undeniable
that he shared an affinity with his father.

“In time, I transitioned from handing him
tools to him handing me tools,” says Earl. As a young man, Earl’s passion for
fixing cars continued to grow. He got his first job repairing cars in Utah,
while attending college in 1990. Though he relished the hands-on job, more
reliable opportunities called to him. He accepted a position with the postal
service in search of stability and relocated to Coppell,
Texas.

In five short years, he began to question
that decision. “I didn’t like going to work or who I was becoming. I didn’t
see a happy future.” In turmoil, he looked to his family. His younger
brother, Lot, was working as an automotive technician and Earl saw great
career potential. He returned to school while working full time and earned a
degree in automotive technology with a five-year plan to open his own shop.
Burdick Auto Solutions opened its doors in McKinney in March
2002.

Honesty is
Key

Since day one, they have emphasized honesty
first to support a central mission: focus on people, not profits. Earl and
his wife, Cynthia, are devout members of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-Day Saints. God is a constant in their lives. One way they serve
others is through the organization and daily operations of Burdick Auto
Solutions.

“We want to be more Christlike in all that we
do,” says Earl. Drawing strength from their spiritual base, Earl and Cynthia
strive to help others through quality work and dependability. Burdick Auto
Solutions strives for perfection, but when they fall short, they will never
fall short with honesty. “Honesty is not optional. It fosters trust and is a
focal point in all interviews with potential employees. We stand by these
shop principles.” The reputation-staking claim is easily verifiable in
today’s age of online reviews.

Burdick Auto Solutions is part of a
nationwide group of auto repair shops that offer a three-year, 36,000-mile
nationwide guarantee for all repairs. “If we work on your vehicle and you
travel to New York and have a related problem, you’re covered,” says Earl.
All makes and models are welcome at Burdick, including foreign, domestic, and
diesels. Complimentary shuttle services and loaner vehicles offer a
high-quality customer experience. They offer bumper-to-bumper mechanical
services, from basic maintenance to complex engine diagnostics and
repairs.

A Family
Tradition

A passion for automotives and serving others
runs in the family. All the Burdick boys have taken an interest in the family
business. Earl’s sons would hand him tools while he worked on cars as he did
with his own father. His youngest son currently lives in Utah and continues
to fix cars and help others.

Cynthia also has an enthusiasm for cars that
began with her father. “We went to a lot of antique car shows growing up,”
she says. “My father could fit six cars into his four-car garage, owned over
80 vehicles in his lifetime, and collected and sold memorabilia.” The late
car enthusiast battled Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, ultimately passing away
in 2020. Prior to his passing, Cynthia and Earl were able to revive his 1970
Chevy Impala, taking him for one last ride in the beloved convertible.
“I think it’s part of why she likes me,”
said Earl.

“It’s
amazing and humbling to hear from customers about how they have a different
experience at our place than others. It’s inspiring and it drives us to want
to do more”

Cynthia’s
father’s memory lives on in the shop as some of his collections currently
adorn its walls. The Burdicks took ownership of his 1934 Chevrolet, which
they are in the process of restoring. They hope to include it in McKinney’s
annual 4th of July Parade, which they’ve participated in the last couple
years.

Future Auto

On March 1, 2024, Burdick Auto Solutions will
celebrate 22 years in business. A grand reopening will help mark the
occasion. They are excited to share their recent renovations and the new,
modern look of their building. A redesigned office space allows efficient
workforce operations, the brighter lobby
invites visitors, and a delivery zone

minimizes interruptions.

“Our goal is to help as many people as we
can.” Plans are being made to secure a location for a second shop in a year
or two. With nine bays, 12 lifts, and a team of 12, Burdick Auto Solutions is
here to help you.
